I just semi-launched my website but am looking to improve it. Can you guys roast it?

https://www.aiwhooschool.com/

I would appreciate any feedback and tips!

I saw it and understood in less than 1 sec what was your service about. The fonts are really nice picked, childlike headers and readable-serious descriptions, colours are really nice, thought. Looks great, collect data and iterate

[–] Web-Spider@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I thought so too!

[–] Dexter12955@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Not here to roast. But if it was me I would really emphasize the benefits of why your child needs to learn to code . Good luck

[–] Equesappelerioquezac@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (3 children)

"© 2024 AI Whoo, LLC. " I know it's a detail, but that's just wrong. You probably thought that, considering how close we are to 2024, you might as well get a head start so you're up to date next year. But that's not how it works. The "© 202X" is here to mark the year in which the latest work was published.

If you don't update the design of your website every year, you should leave the year that the latest design was published in.

[–] supermanava@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Haha at the very least a computer scientist should know how to dynamically update it

[–] Sucess_Matra@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Totally agree on the comment. some people mention the first publish date and the current like. 2013 to 2023.

[–] ZaMr0@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

By "latest design published" do you mean the general look of the website or do you mean publishing any content such as a new portfolio piece or blog too?

[–] Repulsive-Tune-11@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I know nothing about website design, so you could take my feedback as the perspective of someone who’s stumbled upon your site or as a potential client. I think it looks great! It’s really straightforward yet pretty engaging, and it really does give off school vibes. The ‘Teach your child to code’ message tells me exactly what you offer. The logo depicting the sun peeking behind a cloud reminds me of a daycare for some reason, but that only adds to the school feeling. I think the cherry on top is the ‘space ninjas’ example. It would make any parent excited to think that their kids could potentially develop a game like that. I’m sure people who’ve actually designed websites have things to say, but from my perspective, it looks great!

[–] chikaca@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I would break up the paragraphs to be 3 sentences max

[–] PathfinderSP@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

This site is actually simple and good and gets the point accross

(like the idea of getting hits via Reddit, though it may not be the objective. People love to roast! Going to hijack this idea for headlines)

[–] iamyouregrammar@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

If these were included I'd be more likely to try the service

  1. There was no specific information about the qualification or experiences of the teaching staff who will be guiding the children. Knowing their educational background and teaching expertise would boost confidence.
  2. Although various programs include coding and STEM, there was no clear mention of the age groups or grade levels these programs are designed for. This would help parents understand if it's suitable for their child.
  3. There was no visible link or section for resources, such as sample coding projects or learning material, that could give a clearer picture of what the curriculum entails.

The double review blocks are a bit much.

[–] Educational_Golf_523@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Works great on mobile!!!

You teach “culture” seems odd word choice.

In about us, I wish you showed more games your students created in the carousel. I already saw those examples on the home page

[–] KernalHispanic@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

With all do respect, I think your name is horrible. It absolutely fails the telephone test. Every time you tell someone about the site, you are going to have to spell it out to them.

My other criticism is that I think you use the bold font a little too much. If everything is bolded, nothing is bolded if that make sense (read about information hierarchy in Refactoring UI). The bold and choice of font honestly affects legibility in some instances too e.g "mail" in the footer.

Lastly, I think that you need to list the benefits of teaching your kid to code. When I go to your website, there's nothing there that's going to sell me. The little benefits section you have in the pricing page is good, but I think you should have some in the landing page.

Here is some example copy for the landing page I had ChatGPT make for you:

Foster Creativity and Innovation: Every lesson is a new adventure into the world of coding, where kids can unleash their imagination and bring their unique ideas to life.

Build Critical Thinking Skills: Through engaging coding challenges, children learn to think logically and solve problems systematically, skills that are vital in today's digital world.

Real-World Tech Skills for the Future: Our curriculum is designed to give your child a head start in technology. They won’t just play games; they’ll learn how to create them, setting a strong foundation for future learning in STEM fields.

A Fun and Engaging Learning Environment: Who says learning can’t be fun? Our interactive lessons make coding as exciting as playing a video game, ensuring that children are always engaged and eager to learn more.

Personalized Learning at Their Own Pace: Every child is unique, and our program adapts to their learning style and pace. Whether your child is a beginner or already a budding coder, our courses grow with them.

Honestly overall the site looks pretty good. Good luck to you!

[–] TourApprehensive2155@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Not a fan of the paragraph font, nice site though. Also not a huge fan of that bright orange, maybe a slightly darker shade?

[–] Nicolasrny@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

This is a good landing page. Maybe you can add more social proof.

[–] scare-destinyy@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Looks so good!

[–] badheartbull@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The weekly frequency mixed with the monthly payment terms threw me off. I would fix to 4 times monthly for X monthly rate.

[–] Sowkeres@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Hey, I am willing to help a bit with the logo if that’s okay with you, too

[–] Playful-Balance-3118@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

- Introduce a child-friendly mascot.

- Note the absence of visible terms and policies.

- Showcase star coders with photos for credibility.

- Share facts on why coding is crucial for children.

- Suggest kid-friendly coding games like Minecraft and Temple Run that they can learn to design.

- Include easy login options after payment, this needs to track class history, study material, and payment history.

[–] InformalBox6398@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I think it's good for a semi launch. I looked first on mobile then on laptop. I agree with some of the other comments, there's a lot to like in terms of clarity of your offering and the overall vibe.

I think it looks better on laptop than on mobile where you lose the nice geometry details and it looks a bit boring.

The only things that really stood out - in a bad way - were the name and the logo. You need to get more creative with that. Ask ChatGPT for 20 name ideas and explore all the 'top level domain' options, eg .ai, .academy, .xyz etc (there are loads) if you can't find a good .com. And then use either an AI generator or something like DesignCrowd to get yourself a good logo.

I like the bold all caps, it's fun, but maybe it's a little overdone. A bit too bold - is there another cut of it? And maybe used too often.

Finally, people always want to see some things they recognise and trust. You've got some endorsements from Johnny and Jackie Random, but they could be made up. Do you have any affiliations, partnerships or press coverage so you could drop some logos in there? Even if it's just the software and resources you use.

Good luck.

I try to submit enquiry on your contact us form where I can write anything on Name and number even Email It submit the form. Here are some steps you can take to address this issue:
Client-Side Validation:
Ensure that there is client-side validation in place using JavaScript. This will help in providing immediate feedback to users if they try to submit invalid data. However, remember that client-side validation is not sufficient by itself and can be bypassed.
Server-Side Validation:
Always perform server-side validation to ensure that the submitted data is valid and meets your criteria. Never rely solely on client-side validation, as it can be bypassed.
Input Validation:
Validate the input on both the client and server sides. Check for the type of data expected (text, numbers, email, etc.) and ensure that it conforms to the expected format.
Escape User Input:
Make sure to escape any user input that is displayed on the page to prevent potential Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. This is especially important for data that is output in HTML.
Implement Captcha:
To prevent automated form submissions, consider implementing a captcha or reCAPTCHA. This can help ensure that the form is being submitted by a human and not by a bot.
Use Prepared Statements:
If your form involves database interactions, make sure to use prepared statements to prevent SQL injection attacks.

Also, year is still 2023 not 2024. We have 2 days to go ;)

I wish your hero CTAs were the same size since they’re side by side.

[–] DimensionCharming808@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Let’s get in touch seems off. Maybe only “Get in Touch”

I would change the yellow aiwhoo to a.i.whoo

[–] Rodbourn@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Took so long to load i didn't bother to look.

[–] Lazy_Programmer2099@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I went through you website and I would say that honestly it feels like its made from a template in wordpress. You should focus on UX of the website a bit more and make it appealing .Also you have to change the color coding of the website , its got a very dull feeling and it affects user experience a lot . This is completely form the pov of a product developer.

[–] Responsible_Ice7087@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Can I invest?

[–] madcodez@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

It's Beautiful.

[–] TheKosherMadness@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The Aleo font is jarring. Change it please.

[–] Iam_motivated_jay@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I think it's a great website 👍

[–] KaiN_SC@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Im missing information about what you teach exactly.

Coding apps/web-apps etc is very different from coding games and it seems like you sent the games route but Im not sure.

[–] interviewsiq@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The messaging in the hero section on the landing page is quite clear. I am able to understand the purpose of the company almost immediately. Overall, really well done.

[–] Electro__69@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

From design pov it has some major issues

1.) Buttons are of different sizes

2.) Font selection for the title is >! Shit !<

[–] Prudent-Ad2877@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Which software u made the website on

[–] ProjectRU4Real@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago
[–] ezyTHR@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

can't even roast it, actually looks pretty clean, i would just change a few colors but it's just my personnal preferences to dark colors, but the rest is good bro congrats, good website, and good project too !

[–] psychogoblet@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I don't love the name. It was confusing to me, as I first thought it was something to do with AI and an owl (whoo) - it isn't as clear to me as it could be. I am an online teacher & have been for years. Just glancing at it, it's interactive and would appeal to homeschoolers, but the name doesn't help you out there. How long did it take you to build it?

[–] Voltekkaman@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

T'is poo

Nah it does the job well tbh.

[–] NetworkEducational81@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The footer days 2024@ all rights reserved. We are still in 2023.

  • Overall I like how I understand right away what website is about.
  • Your student projects - there are only 2. If say you need at least 3 more.
  • I’d include more details on pricing page. Like how long are the lessons, if maybe students can choose their time to learn
  • Page with roadmap of what exactly is being taught in your school would be nice too
[–] Icy-Milk-9793@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

🎓in the Contact better put Google map
+ got Reviews
+ got Navigation

Xample▶https://www.varietylooks.com/where

[–] RiverSmiles@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I like the website from a UX perspective. I echo the other comments about improving reviews by linking out to google or adding photos of students.

As a parent I would want to know what the target age range is. I’d also like to know more about the course structure and see somewhere explicit that it’s virtual.

[–] lawdog_awaken@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Not bad as a first launch. I would just say that your own picture is too low res and does not provide enough info about your background. A video demonstrating a session so we could see the environment would also be useful. Good luck.

[–] mangobanana62@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

no roast here its a perfect website.

[–] juliiii__@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago
[–] Gupta_Fang@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Welp, mission accomplished?

I'm sure this is all great advice, but does your analytics say your website is doing what you want it to do?

[–] CarelessCoconut5307@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

learn to code and book a free session buttons bring different sizes annoys me

also the large bubbly stylized typeface is very tight, could use some spaced out tracking if possible, a little crappy to read. otherwise, good

[–] lavenderhazexo@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Oh my gosh, it's really good. I should put my website up it is bound to get roasted beyond my emotional response capabilities.

[–] pentaclay@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

You're teaching codes to kids.

But where's the content? I didn't saw anything related to curriculum, methods, and teachers.

Who are the teachers?

Before jumping into UI design updates, provide some value, there's not much information that will attract me to sign up.

Provide the below items 👇

  • Class contents
  • Teaching methods
  • Teachers
  • Time-table of the classes
  • Testimonials of previous students
  • Social proof
  • Add images related to teaching HTML
[–] Dig-Programmatically@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I am not a ui/ux guy but what I can recommend is keywords that you website and maybe in future blogs cater to.

I made a tool that will go tru thousands of keywords and using that tool I manage to perform keywords analysis for your product. Here is the keyword analysis : AIWHOOSCHOOL KEYWORD ANALYSIS

Let me know if you want to know how to use this or have some feedback on the analysis
