Commoner it is unless my GPA from over 20 years ago counts

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 2 points 56 minutes ago

I inherited my fathers sword, shield, and cloak, so maybe sorceror? Is there one that uses weapons like that? I haven't played one in ages.

“It’s absurd, we have a play group of 20 and they are ALL WARLOCKS.”

“My patron is Geoffrey d’Bezos, an arch fiend!”

“SHUT THE FUCK UP RAYMOND!”

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Would bard-warlock multiclass just be that one Bo Burnham song about Jeffrey Bezos?

[–] IzzyScissor@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

DM: Must have a god complex.

[–] starchylemming@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

i see a party of 5 fighters incoming soon multiclassing into rouges after putting him down a notch together

[–] FilthyShrooms@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago

Complex? I find it quite simple

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago

I can be any of these except for fighter just because I don't really want to kick my best friend's ass.

Then again, he is pretty scrappy, so like, I might end up getting my ass kicked instead if I tried, so either way, it's a wash for me.

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 32 points 7 hours ago

I would be like 5 of these, so I would be multiclassed beyond usefulness. Come to think of it that is a pretty accurate representation...

Could you be a sorcerer if you're related to the DM?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 3 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

Depends on if it's a bloodline relationship.

Handholding types get to be warlocks or clerics

[–] burntbacon@discuss.tchncs.de 25 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I wonder how many groups would ever have a barbarian. A person with a temper that I ever see basically makes it to my 'don't-wanna-be-around' list.

[–] Skua@kbin.earth 13 points 6 hours ago

Depends on how they express the anger and who else is in the group, I suppose. One of my friends gets angry at games quite easily, but he doesn't take it out on anyone else and can accept a ribbing from the rest of us about it, so while it's a little annoying it doesn't ruin the time spent with him

"Play an Instrument"

RAW v RAI

I can play any and every instrument, badly. Rules never said play well.

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 5 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

Play the music from tape while miming on the instrument. Surely, acting falls within the scope of bardic abilities!

Or just do some form of oration (rousing speeches, telling jokes, rapping ...). Bards don't have to play an instrument, and using your voice for your bardic performance is way more practical than bringing some instrument on the road.

[–] celeste@kbin.earth 7 points 6 hours ago

Hmm, some of these work. My DM does enjoy that good grass so there are some sessions where I could steal his entire box of dice without him noticing. Rogue it is, then!

[–] Susaga@sh.itjust.works 13 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

This is the exact reason I learned to play the ukulele

[–] lagoon8622@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I don't know any instruments (yet), but I can bring a vuvuzela and learn real quick during the next session

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Aztec death whistle would also be interesting. IDK how hard it actually is to produce that sound and it's definitely harder to find (or make) than a vuvuzela, but you certainly don't need to know any music and the effect is really impressive.

I don't know how a GPA would translate from american to the rest if the world.

[–] bran_buckler@lemmy.world 15 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

First you have to subtract 32 freedom units, then divide by 1.8 bald eagles.

[–] Skua@kbin.earth 10 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Ehhh I think we can happily just swap it out for "good grades and haven't left education early"

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 hours ago

Oh shit, I can be a wizard as well.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 7 hours ago

I'm just glad it's not gpa AND a degree.

Though it's an engineering degree, and I'd be an artificer.

[–] Skua@kbin.earth 3 points 6 hours ago

I can definitely be a bard, druid, or wizard and I can maaaybe swing fighter or paladin depending the GM. Particularly for fighter. Fortunately for me I love bards and druids. I don't think I can figure out a coherent bard/druid multiclass to truly be a self-insert, but I may have to try

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 6 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

I could be an Artificer, Warlock or Ranger.

Industrial mechanic, working for the government, have passed proficiency tests for weapons handling in the CAF.

[–] Inucune@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Electric wizard!

[–] CheeseNoodle@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

Guess I can go Fighter (with my usual GM at least), or Wizard.
