I had no idea what Loops was. Nice I guess, though short form content is just not something with which I want to engage.

Yeah, short form content isn't really my cup of tea either. I'm glad it exists though :)
I don't mind short form, but I loathe vertical videos. But I guess these days those are basically 1 in the same.
I believe they have - announced a few weeks ago.
I think someone told me in another thread a while back discussing loops that at the time it was only like certain libraries and whatnot? I wasn't sure if that was still the case, or if that person was right, or what π€·ββοΈ
I'm not an especially technical person so I don't really remember details though π
No they were right - but now it's the whole server so people can stand up their own.

It launched without being decentralized and without federation. Might've been a mistake.
But it can't be right that twenty thousand users stop like the same day? It's gotta be some error

You can't know how good an app is without trying it first. After trying it , I found out that is it at best an alpha and I stopped using it
No, it has actually never happened that thirty one thousand users tries an app for 3 months then stopped on the same day. You might reevaluate
This app is the worse app I ever tried . Like I said it is at best an alpha. Why would anybody use it when I can't search by keyword and the app only suggest 3 creators?

it'd be cool if their android app could get updated. and they fix the feed from just showing you the same string of videos constantly.
other than those two things im sure it will be awesome.
I have been doing some uploading there for a few mths. My biggest gripe is that they support 60 second videos, but anything over 15 seconds (for me) never finishes uploading.
I have seen the repeats too though.
I see a lot of these threads praising loops and i have never been able to use it effectively despite my efforts. =( and I have really wanted it to.
I am curious about the length restriction as well. I wonder if these are all things they're going to address and fix. but you'd think they'd have done all that before making announcements and whatnot.
Or implementing the fundamental feature of searching videos by keywords and hashtags
I appreciate this. unfortunately Loops imho is lacking too many features for me to try again at this time.
but its nice to know an app is getting updates now!
