If he thought they were "only focusing on ‘criminals and murderers’" then I bet they get their news from Fox News.
Curtis, a U.S. permanent [Texas] resident born in Edmonton, holds a business degree and works in the oil and gas sector.
10 to 1 he's a big-time Trump supporter.
Edmonton is the center for liberal and left leaning people in Alberta. There is a chance that he is not a Trumper but living in Texas and working in oil he probably is a Trumper.
You could say the same thing about people in Austin but I don't know that it would convince anyone.
Jim says the drug conviction involved a Xanax tablet being found in the backseat of his son’s truck. He says Curtis’ criminal history also includes a misdemeanor charge that stemmed from police discovering a handgun in the glove compartment of the car Curtis was driving, which was only registered to his wife, and an impaired driving arrest eight years ago, noting he has since cut alcohol out of his life.
Drugs, guns, and a DUI? Get fukt son.
"But I'm not a criminal. I'm white!" - that loser probably
I read that as
... he thought agents were only focusing on brown people
Has a DUI and a weapons charge. Sounds like they got it right for once.
What they really think is the crime of being dark skinned.
While they did manage to find something to check off the right forms as "is criminal", those were years ago, and had no reason to do anything about it now, and no reason to suspect he would reoffend, given the nature of the crimes.
So no, they're in the wrong.
From our perspective, they’re in the wrong. From the perspective of people who are “tough on crime,” they’re in the right.
I'm not defending this necessarily, but just saying Canada won't let you cross the border even for a visit, if you've had a DUI ever. I find it unsurprising they're digging into full history.
So, just like all the other “criminals” they are deporting.
“Before I came in here, I was of the mind that they were doing what they said they were doing, where they were focusing on the worst of the worst, criminals and murderers,” he said. “What I’ve come to understand since I’ve been in here is that’s the exact opposite of the people that I’ve met and seen.”
Curtis says of the hundreds of people he’s met inside three different facilities he’s been transferred between, most are “like him.”
“Just people working to provide a life for their family. Trying to be part of society in a productive manner,” he added.
Curtis, a U.S. permanent resident born in Edmonton, holds a business degree and works in the oil and gas sector. He was taken into custody in early November after being flagged at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston while returning from a business trip to Mexico.
Maybe if more Trumpers were jailed with everyone ICE has jailed they might realize they were wrong about immigrants. Small chance but if one can do it others can.
We in BC would like to apologize for the hillbilly flatlander in the Northeast part of our region, as they may be IN BC but they're a still east of the mountains, and thus afflicted with Flatlander Dementia, caused by a the inability to see water

I don’t know that this actually fits the community - this is about a foreign national, who had some old charges he hadn’t dealt with for whatever reason (one of which dates back to high school, when he was technically still a juvenile), and took ICE/CBP at their word, and evidently didn’t realize they are 100% lying. Lots of people don’t keep close tabs on what our shitshow of a country is up to at this exact moment.
This sounds a lot more like being in the wrong place at the wrong time while being somewhat oblivious/uninformed.
this is about a foreign national
He also has a US green card, so that should've made ICE fuck right off.
Although, any people who have a very large right not to be deported using up ICE resources is a good thing as they can fight against the charges easier It also makes their family and friends more likely not to blindly suck up trumpaganda.
Speaking as a green card holder (who, by definition, went through the immigration process), I'm wondering if they're alleging that he lied on his application.
It was a long time ago when I filled it out, but I do remember that there were a lot of questions about whether you've ever been convicted of or even charged with a crime.
I’m sure the 8 minute training course these division rejects got covered these nuances.
ICE has been effectively ignoring the whole green card thing for months now. This is not new behavior for them.
I don’t know as this is a leopards eating faces. I don’t believe he can vote, and there’s nothing there about him supporting it, just being unaware. Don’t get me wrong, lots of faces are delicious, but I don’t think this counts.
It seems like he supported it; "they said they were going after the worst of them" seems like justification for supporting it. I don't support it, and I wouldn't say that. I do admit you have to assume some, but I'm not a jury and I'm not sentencing him to anything, so I'm not holding myself to the highest standard here.
Fucking idiot
