Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Pete Hegseth. The very dumbest there is. When you absolutely, positively got to have the dumbest motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.

[–] BlackVenom@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I don't need to be told how dumb our leadership is, Jules. When Dems go out, they get centrist shit, when Reps go out, they get the gourmet batshit. When they hear it they want to feel it, okkayyyyy!?

Pentagon sermon. 🫩 I'm tired.

Bruh...

There's sermons at every PT and almost every function.

The Chair Force especially has been overrun with Protestant extremists in their academy.

Like, if you think this is bad, it's worth going down that rabbit hole to realize how bad it actually is.

https://truthout.org/articles/underground-group-of-cadets-says-air-force-academy-controlled-by-evangelicals/

That article is 16 years old and it's only gotten worse. They just put Erika Kirk on the board:

The gross part is how they "recruit with daughters".

They raise their own daughters deep in the religion, then push them to do anything to get a young officer to marry them so they can convert them.

Like, it happens all over, but nowhere worse than AF academy. In SC there's a marine Academy and a Navy Nuclear school, they're out on the prowl there too. Anywhere young military members are, you'll find a disproportionate amount of young attractive evangelical women willing to go absolutely crazy and then pull a 180 after the wedding night.

It's like a psuedo rumspringer the Amish do. As soon as their daughters are 18, they're given the green the light to commit any kind of sin to engrapt a husband for the cause.

Isn't a good Christian wife supposed to do anything to keep her husband happy in bed? I don't know what 180 they are supposed to do, but anyone who wouldn't be ashamed to set foot in a church after what we do isn't the right woman for me.

[–] zalgotext@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

I don't know what 180 they are supposed to do

Fake christian reads fake bible verse. Scans to me.

[–] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

While calling it a "prayer" instead of using the right terminology

So "religious"

[–] ButtermilkBiscuit@feddit.nl 3 points 2 days ago

Praise be to Allah

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So he performed something Tarantino made up? In a broadcast?

That's a copyright infringement, right?

[–] BlackVenom@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Fair use. He'll do the coffee scene next.

[–] ductTapedWindow@lemmy.zip 9 points 2 days ago

That's the only Bible verse I know, that and coolios.

But to be fair every religious person I've ever known has been a wrinkled whore. It's as if going to church some how permits them to be degenerates.

[–] BigTurkeyLove@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 days ago

And above all else, let us remember and hold in our hearts, Jesus's words "I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was." Lapras 6:9

Amen

[–] sober_monk@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

I gotta say, the press photos of Hegseth didn't get any more flattering ever since he whined about them.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

Did trump take the picture?

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If it was almost anyone else I'd say this was pretty bad ass. With him it's just sad and dumb.

[–] NOT_RICK_SANCHEZ@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yea I’m with you on this, I love that movie and I was sad because this clown is clearly a fan of it too

I doubt that. More likely his whole talk was some Ai generated garbage that favored this version over the real version due to a bunch of reddit quotes pushing up the ranking.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Was that really fake? Pulp fiction had been one of my favorite movies for decades. I always assumed it was real.

[–] 58008@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Iranians in their thousands dying of pure cringe.

[–] desmosthenes@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

impeachment long needed

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

What's the over/under on when someone in this regime quotes from The Book of Who?
