[–] boogiebored@lemmy.world 11 points 1 hour ago

jesus never banged chicks, hung out with a buncha dudes and loved rainbows.

jesus was gay af. grow up.

Why would they have to block anything? Surely a real Christian wouldn't be interested in any of that in the first place!

[–] freddo@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Yes but the devil plays weird tricks so they may be tempted by those.

[–] Insekticus@aussie.zone 5 points 1 hour ago

I like how it's always Satan playing tricks.

Why isn't it their god just making sure they're worth getting into the afterlife?

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 24 points 3 hours ago

You know who didn't block sex-workers and Queer people? Jesus.

(Jesus offends the religious authorities more than a few times because of His associations, notably "prostitutes"--with a later tradition holding that the woman to whom Jesus' return from death was first revealed, Mary Magdalene, was herself a sex-worker; as for Queer followers in the Bible, Jesus makes reference to "eunuchs" and Jesus Himself seems to fit on the asexual scale)

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

Jesus spent lots of time with prostitutes.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 19 points 4 hours ago

LOL

No one loves porn more than Jesus Freaks.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 5 points 3 hours ago

America is getting dumber by the minute.

[–] PodPerson@lemmy.zip 57 points 6 hours ago

Grindr pre-installed though, right?

[–] techt@lemmy.world 21 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

My guess is it's a trap to get thumpers to pay a premium for what is just a custom DNS.

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 10 points 4 hours ago

Love it. Parents putting their kids on the network thinking it'll stop them from being able to access anything, kids set any other DNS, parents will never know.

Yet again a parenting task pawned off to a corporate promise they can't keep instead of teaching responsibility.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 hours ago

DNS lists exist for adult content. So it'd be pi.hole but for porn.

[–] texture@lemmy.world 12 points 5 hours ago

bigotry in religion? thats old news, isp blocking based on those bigotries, well thats old news too but somehow this is a new level of stupid and awful. great.

[–] uenticx@lemmy.world 176 points 9 hours ago (40 children)

If you have to self-police like that, your followers don't believe in the morals you preach.

[–] HakunaHafada@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 28 minutes ago* (last edited 27 minutes ago)

Why take personal accountability for one's morals when you can offload it to a paid service?

[–] thallamabond@lemmy.world 114 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Reminds me of being asked how I keep from murdering and raping people, since I do not believe in an eternal damnation.

[–] reksas@sopuli.xyz 27 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (1 children)

scary people, if religion is only thing that keeps them from doing that, which that question implies.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 11 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

How do you hold back the nonstop compulsion to commit horrible crimes which we all feel constantly??

[–] reksas@sopuli.xyz 5 points 3 hours ago

I do only the crimes that my dear friend Mr fibbles the sockpuppet has approved.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 58 points 8 hours ago

What do you mean being a good person is its own reward?!?

[–] kylie_kraft@lemmy.world 23 points 8 hours ago (3 children)

I think this network will primarily be used by parents to keep their kids from being tempted into sin or discovering that queer people exist

[–] webkitten@piefed.social 29 points 8 hours ago (3 children)

They're gonna be shocked to find out that Jesus shared his body with 12 other men.

[–] P1nkman@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

That one kid during communion "is this part of Jesus' penis?".

I've seen more posts about this than are necessary for a person to see. I think zero is probably the optimal number, but can anyone explain why this is worth printing even one story about?

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 17 points 6 hours ago (10 children)

Only time I remember anyone blocking nudity in the Bible was Satan inciting that in the garden.

Checks out

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 5 points 5 hours ago

So, no bible there?

[–] acido@feddit.it 39 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I imagine CSAM content will be exempt from this block.

It's tempting to shrug this off as not my business, but if this kind of entity becomes widespread enough, then you can get into situations where a future government, more radical when than what we have today, could feasibly mandate people to use these types of networks

[–] carotte@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

even without that there are people who will be forced to use this, like kids of religious parents
