Rhubarb pie. Rhubarb pie is pretty tart. Not strawberry-rhubarb, which a lot of restaurants do and is milder.

Apple, hot, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Nothing else comes close. Except cheesecake, but that's not a pie.
Shoofly made with Turkey table syrup instead of molasses.

Funny cake is a close second, it more depends if I want a browned sugar or chocolate flavor.

How to say you're from PA without saying you're from PA.
You know it! 😉
In honor of the upcoming Tau Day I shall choose 2 pis
Chicken Pot and Chocolate Cream
Peach cobbler, hot, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Pecan pie is lovely, you just haven't grown in all your taste buds yet. It is not the best, but a good pecan pie is very good.
Key lime is a strong contender, as I think is strawberry rhubarb, but for me one pie reigns supreme. Nothing beats a good buttermilk pie.
Maybe that's it. I haven't tried pecan pie very many times, maybe I just never had a good one.
You might also just not like it. I was just talking a little shit. There are a lot of bad examples out there though. Store bought is never the best, it has to be homemade. It is not a pie I have mastered the art of making, yet, myself. I have had a good one though and it was worth the calories.
Wait. That's a cheese cake disguised as a pie!
Despite the name, I consider cheesecake to be more of a pie than a cake.
No eggs, and it's not cooked, so not cheese cake. Although, since cheese cake is cake in name only (CINO), it counts as a pie.
Poppy seed cheesecake

I've never had that, but I like poppy-seed cake and I like cheesecake. Hmm.
It's delicious
My favorite is strawberry, because it was my grandfather's favorite. I have a good memory of having strawberry pie with him. However, I do feel the need to defend pecan pie here, because the best pie I've ever had was pecan. It was piled high with pecans and only lightly seasoned, so it was almost like a sweet and savory thing with Christmas-y spices.

White peach pie, then pineapple brown sugar, then pecan pie
Pumpkin!
As long as it's done well, I love any kind of pie!
This is the correct answer. Full points.
Strawberry rhubarb with mostly rhubarb. Two crusts, nine of that crumble garbage and a big lump of vanilla ice cream on top.
Chocolate Mousse for me. Delicious.
I only discovered sweet potato pie like two years ago, but it's definitely a top contender. It's everything pumpkin pie wishes it could be.
I know some don't think that pizza qualifies as pie, but surely Chicago deep dish must?

Dessert pie-wise, cherry is always my go to.

I'd love to try making a chocolate cherry pie sometime.
Keep in mind that Pie Day comes twice each year: 3/14 and 7/22. 22/7 is the most common approximation of Pi.
I think my favorite pie is the Duo Silk made by a local restaurant that specializes in pie. It has a layer of French silk above a layer of peanut butter silk. And the top is covered with chocolate shavings and miniature Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. It's at least a week's worth of desert calories in one serving, but occasionally worth it.
The Programmer's Pie. It's a lot like Shepherd's Pie, but for programmers.

(My other valid answer: Lemon Meringue Pie)
Pecan pie is delicious, with honey instead of corn syrup. I like sweet potato pie, too. But my favorite is peach cobbler. It used to be apple, which is probably my second favorite.
I like puff pastries filled with ragout. Vol au vent or bouche de la reine.
I don't know if that counts as pie, but if whatever they do in yorkshire counts as pudding, that's my pie
Steak, bacon and cheese is my current pie of choice. The same bakery where I buy those also has a decent steak and jalapeno pie. And the humble steak and cheese pie is always acceptable, if made well.
Bacon and egg the best pie ever
Are you considering pizza a type of pie? If so, then pizza is the winner for me.
Someone already said key lime pie, so I'll put in my current favourite savoury pie, a gruyère and leek pie more or less like this:
Do you have a recipe for this criminally good-looking Cherry Cream Cheese Cake?
In my household we have something we call expired-pie. The name comes from my GF accidentally using this tin of ham that was two years past expired, instead of the one I'd just bought for the recipe. It turned out great and nobody got sick. Then we discovered the accident.
Also, it is my firm belief that a properly made cheesecake is a type of pie.
You're not going to tell us anything about what kind of pie uses tinned ham?
Expired-pie, obviously
Used to live near Marie Callander’s restaurants. They had a German chocolate pie, which I want to say had a layer of solid chocolate, then a chocolate custard/coconut shavings filling, and you could have either whipped cream or meringue on it with mini chocolate chips sprinkled on top (I always opted for meringue). Best pie I’ve ever had.
pecan pie is gross
I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you've only had access to poorly made pecan pie.
To your question, I prefer savory pies like chicken pot pie or cottage pie.
Apple pie with sharp cheddar cheese
I'm waiting for Tau day. Better to wait and have twice as much pi.
Cheesecake.
It is technically a pie.
My favorite cake is Boston Creme Pie.
Pizza pie!
I was waiting for this, although, I think it's PINO, pie in name only. But, it's hard to say "no" to a good pizza pie!
All answers are valid, except pecan. Fuck pecan pie, it’s gross.
I can understand pecan pie being too sweet
like, it's essentially a block of sugar. It's a very sweet pie. But I can't say I dislike it, it moderation.
I'm not a big fan of mincemeat, though. That's probably the most-common pie
shows up a lot at Thanksgiving in the US
that I'd really rather have an alternative to.
pecan pie
I can feel my teeth rotting just thinking about it. The sweetness is overpowering.

Pie shop near me just started making a butter chicken pie. It’s fucking amazing.
