Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

To be fair, he doesn't do a whole lot of thinking in general.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 28 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

is this worse than when he posted a video literally shitting on Americans?

hmmm do you still think yOU arE NoT tHEre yeT?

[–] artyom@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

I mean he was only shitting on some Americans, who were actively opposing him. Not his base. This is much worse because it is all Americans.

Rarely have we seen him tell the truth

[–] acido@feddit.it 3 points 3 weeks ago

well it is a half lie, because he's not thinking about them at all, not just in Iran talks.

In other news: water is wet!

[–] Lydon_Feen@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

He meant to say he's not thinking about american's finances even a little bit... Ever.

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I thought their enrichment facilities that would facilitate them getting a nuclear weapon were completely obliterated last year. Weird that they’re able to rebuild those so quickly. Either he’s lying (he is) or last year’s mission was a failure.

Trump says he’s not thinking ~~about Americans’ finances ‘even a little bit’ in Iran talks~~

and this is different to normal... in what way, precisely?

Or are we just reaffirming what we already know? Is the next headline to be "Demented Orange Rapist Still Demented, Orange, and a Rapist"?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Corporate news sewers under trump just have to fart out content, and it helps if it means nothing to anyone.

Dog forbid they pronounce a fact that wasn’t terrifyingly obvious. In 5 years we’ll get the headlines that studies prove everything we know right now, today, was in fact the case.

Turns out he was a demented rapist! Who knew?!

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Everything he does is under the cover of it being a case of National security, except for Americans actually feeling secure

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That doesn't sound like a very smart thing to say for him right now. His loyal fans won't ever hear he said it or have it explained away in some bs context so it won't change anything with them obviously. The independents are another story, but he's already down to almost the bare bones base of support.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Gonna go out on a limb and suggest that he’s not the foremost political strategist in the world today.

[–] artyom@piefed.social -1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I think he's trying to say "nothing is more important than disarming Iran" but he just does it with his typical clarity and eloquence, without much, if any, thought or consideration of how it might be perceived.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

And yet this has worked so freaking well for him

[–] artyom@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean vague nonsensities works pretty well for The Bible.
