Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Should have never been put there in the first place. Multiple levels of people should have told him to go fuck himself before it got to that point.

[–] MummifiedClient5000@feddit.dk 31 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There's an entire continent that should have told him to go fuck himself every step of the way, but here we are.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 day ago

The entire world

The ketchup is flying in the Oval Orifice.

I like it when Pumpkinhead pretends it was all the idea of other people, no big deal, etc. People just love him so much, he doesn't even get why they'd do it, yadda yadda.

Deep down, this asshole is trying to slap his name on stuff and build stuff associated with him because he fucking knows that no one is going to be building anything in his name after he's out of there.

All the apparatchiks clap and bow and scrape because they want to make money or have power, etc. I'm sure most of them loathe him.

No one loves this asshole except for the dumbfucks buying his stupid gear, and those people have shit for brains and very few have any power or money...

What an empty life he has. No enjoyment of music, literature, food. No friends. His family hate him. Not even a dog.

If he didn't deserve that life, it would be pathetic.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

When they are done, could they please remove Donald Trump from the White House, too?

[–] NoSpotOfGround@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The actual video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VBgeoyFQW_0

(OP's link goes to the channel page for me.)

[–] Peer@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There is an ai generated video that’s show the letters being removed. Since the letters have not yet been removed there is no real video showing that.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

So this local TV channel's video post from OP is fake?

[–] Peer@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The video does not show the letters being removed as that did not happen yet. Since the original link is broken I cannot see the video in question.

[–] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago

Why would it be fake?

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't see a link to a channel from OP. Where at?

[–] NoSpotOfGround@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If I click on the post it redirects to https://m.youtube.com/c/WBIR10 for me.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

OPs link is to wbir.com, is that the link you are talking about?

[–] NoSpotOfGround@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Yes (https://www.wbir.com/video/news/politics/national-politics/crews-remove-donald-trumps-name-from-the-kennedy-center-federal-judge-ruling/51-b9bd410e-4cba-4d36-a291-a248e94fe110). Someone else in the comments here suggested that having an ad blocker active (I do, and I imagine you don't) makes the site behave differently.

I briefly misread this as "Crows remove Donald Trump's name from The Kennedy Center" and just went "damn, wonder how long someone spent training them for this, respect"

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

Because of this donny no longer wants to be king of the Kennedy Center.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

That article didn't seem to have video of the removal.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Incoming angry tweet deluge.

[–] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

I tried to scroll his "truth" profile but after ten minutes I still was at "1 day ago" and I couldn't bear the amount of shit to continue

A true dedicated shitposter

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That site has one of those ad blocker blockers.

Anyway, it totally sucks that this is the only not-terrible thing to happen in US politics in the last year.

Hey your shit together seppos. Waiting for someone to die is not a strategy.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Kushan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What else is there? Genuinely asking, I could do with a boost.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If you consider this to be a good thing, there is a post at least once a week about something they are doing being shut down by courts, or some politician in a republican stronghold losing massively in a surprise election result, or etc.

[–] charokol@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They said “not terrible”, not “good”

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

OK then, replace "good" in my comment with "not terrible".
