Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I’ve voted against this prick for over thirty five years. At least the traitorous sumbitch will kick the bucket before I do!

[–] Pistcow@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You must live around a bunch of dickheads.

[–] KingGordon@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago

We call them Kentuckians around here.

[–] Astronut@lemmy.zip 15 points 1 week ago (11 children)

As a matter of fact, I do! And I moved here from Chicago about 40 years ago and landed right in the middle of Magaland. I just lay low and listen to the ignorant dingleberry’s ramble on about how great Lord Feltersnatch is!

[–] Rubanski@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There must be a very good reason you held up for so long

Long story but mainly lost everything up north when the steel mills laid off many thousands back in 82 when china was outselling the US on steel. Moved down here and fell in love with the country. Just not the people. Good thing I’m not a people person.

Form someone across the pond: thank you. I can't believe people voting for that relic in want way. Thanks for not.

He was a pioneer of evil.

This guy dumped his political feaces all over America; Trump just smeared it all over the walls.

Sooner he’s forgotten about, the better.

[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh you just know he’s gonna get glazed in the obits

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

I hope his gravesite location is published.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Forgetting about him is the last thing we need to do. He's the immediate precursor to fascism. We need to learn how to spot the wolves before they take off their disguises.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 37 points 1 week ago

May he receive the health care that he helped legislate for the poorest in this country

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 3 points 1 week ago

You have my prayers! 🙏💓

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago

Just trip over the cord. No one’s going to care.

[–] ThanksObama@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago
[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago

Oh no! Are they saying there's a chance he might survive? That's awful!

[–] kylie_kraft@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fuck you for everything, Mitch.

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Mitch sucks but his constituents are who kept him there.

[–] BranBucket@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

If it hasn't been made clear that you can essentially buy an election by now...

Not that his voters don't bear some of the blame, but money helped put him in power and helped keep him there because he was profitable.

These days everything is about money, except money, which is about power.

[–] RoastedSmurf@fedinsfw.app 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Somebody give him some lettuce!

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] RoastedSmurf@fedinsfw.app 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

TORTOISES DON'T DRINK MILK!

[–] tipicaldik@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

RIGHT!! WE SHOULD THROW HIM BACK IN THE POND BEFORE HE DRIES OUT!!

[–] RoastedSmurf@fedinsfw.app 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 5 points 1 week ago

AND INSIDE OUT!

[–] BranBucket@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

You know what I want to do when I'm 84? Nap. Look at pictures of my grandkids and shit. Not be in any form of legislature.

But, because this fucking ghoul can't understand the appeal of properly enjoying the last years of your life, the rest of us will probably have to work ourselves to death so that he can die while still being in control of the country and make a bunch of other sociopathic asshats money.

Fuck you, Mitch. I hope it's painful and slow.

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (3 children)

You clearly haven't become addicted to power.

Genuinely thought he was already dead. Ruined my day to learn I was wrong.

It would be a shit hospital if he wasn't.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

😂 right?

Titles ain't what they used to be....

[–] thewebroach@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

I would be concerned or have sympathy, but using his own words he's a lame duck to the betterment of humanity

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago

One less vote.

Hope and prayers go out that his illness ends quickly and abruptly.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

That guy deserves to suffer a long and painful death. One where he begs to end it but he won't have a say over what happens to his own body.

[–] bender223@lemmy.today 4 points 1 week ago

well, since he's still alive, I wish him the worst.

I hope he's suffering as much as possible.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Fucker doesn't deserve the medical WE ARE PAYING FOR

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 3 points 1 week ago

He needs to retire. Like, now. From his hospital bed.

[–] zane@infosec.pub 1 points 1 week ago

Thots and prayers.

Lets hope it turns out different than Jonathan the tortoise
