Pathetic. And the fact judges are doing it does not bode well for the future of our judiciary.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

When you sell your soul for money. It was worthless, anyway.

[–] nosuchanon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

What a fucking clown.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 20 points 4 hours ago

Imagine asking Goebbels "aren't you embarrassed by all the lies you told?". No, they are not humiliated. They do whatever they want and all the consequences they face is having to ignore your questions for couple of minutes.

And dems are selling this as some kind of a win...

[–] drmoose@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

not an american here but I can't imagine this being real in any other serious country. This straight up feels like treason?

[–] aquovie@lemmy.cafe 8 points 2 hours ago

Maybe you do not care much about the future of the Republican Party. You should. Conservatives will always be with us. If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism: they will reject democracy.

  • David Frum, 2018

This was so prescient, it's amazing. To be a Republican is to be a traitor.

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

The US is a fucking joke

Sadly, it ceased to be funny a looooong time ago

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 35 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Hard to be humiliated when you lack the mental capacity to experience humiliation.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 11 points 5 hours ago

He doesn't lack mental capacity. He understands that "trump won the 2020 election" means he's loyal to the trump cartel. He worships Baal but he knows he can't just say "yeah, I worship Baal".

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 5 hours ago

That's okay, there are plenty of struggling MAGAs who are hearing that, and know it's true about themselves, too. Make the MAGAs understand that even if they aren't feeling humiliated, every one else is feeling it for them. People are literally laughing AT you, and you have to pretend that they are the problem, when EVERYBODY knows it's you.

“I don’t wanna be part of these theatrics,” says the drama queen putting on a show.

Ossoff, with his calm, cool demeanor, made this guy look like a total ass

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 39 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (2 children)

The problem is, MAGA news cycles are going to editorialize it like "TRUMP nominee Jay Clayton DESTROYS HYSTERICAL RADICAL LEFT Democrat in SCATHING REBUTTAL! Woke Lib MELTS DOWN in TEARS" and the people who vote R in every single election are just going to eat it up and share it with all their friends and family on social media.

I've seen this so, so many times with my MAGA relatives.

[–] tacoplease@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

Whoever MAGA supports could walk into court covered in pig shit, the decapitated head of a 12 year girl on his head and a fleshlight mounted on his cock sticking out of pants and that's OWNING THE LIBS!!!!

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 12 points 13 hours ago

Remember kids: unless you're a MAGAt, Donnie-worshiping drone, you're automatically a radical leftist.

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 51 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Yes, thanks to Ossoff. I've seen too many versions of this conversation where the representative lets the issue drop, as though assuming that they should back off and hope viewers got the point. This was much better done and Ossoff's clear-headedness is a breath of fresh air.

[–] homes@piefed.world 78 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (2 children)

I loved this exchange:

“I’m just trying to give you truthful and straightforward answe—“

“No, sir, you’re being evasive and refusing to answer a simple ’yes’ or ‘no’ question. You’re not being straightforward at all.”

That’s what he said right before he asked him if he thought it was embarrassing, not being able to answer. Called him right the fuck out, all nice and calm. Asshole‘s face was priceless.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 17 points 11 hours ago

Its great that ossoff is holding their feet to the fire but I feel like some opportunities were missed here.

When the guy said "I've already amswered", ossoff should have e quoted his answer and said "your response was not an answer, it was a refusal to answer".

Then asked whether his answer would be theatrical because it contradicted Trump, or because it contradicted the electoral college.

That said, it's easy to come up with witty retorts here in the comfort of my arm chair, ossoff did great. I enjoy watching them avoid this question. They're pathetic.

[–] YouTalkinToMe@lemmy.wtf 11 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

”Let me sleep on it

Baby, baby let me sleep on it

Let me sleep on it

I'll give you an answer in the morning”

[–] Blibly@lemmy.world 33 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Republicans: That theatrical baby is a real man! MAGA!

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 11 points 15 hours ago

But that's what they think. It's all performative.

[–] RabbitBBQ@lemmy.world 28 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Trump only wins elections when Democrats are in the White House. If they rig the elections against him they are fucking terrible at it. But then again, Democrats are terrible at everything so who knows

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 7 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

EDIT:I I'm removing my comment due to drunken rambling and apologize to anyone who read it.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 71 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

That's exactly the right way to ask this. They should try various permutations of this question when Donvict's toadies ALL evade this simple question of fact.

Donvict LOST in 2020. He lost probably in SPITE of the cheating and the stealing being attempted by the cons. Not because he was cheated out of anything. He's a fucking baby and a sore loser.

[–] harmbugler@piefed.social 11 points 11 hours ago

So, Mr Trump, you're saying the 2016 election under Obama was better run than the 2020 election under your administration?

[–] Blooper@lemmy.world 18 points 14 hours ago

He's a wannabe tyrant who would absolutely put you to death for this comment should he have actually successfully stolen power and ended democracy. He's going to try again and the Republican party is ready and willing to stand by him for fear they might finally lose all the power they had only ever been afforded due to gerrymandering and the inherently undemocratic senate.

We're going to watch Republicans attempt to implement the Turkey playbook and they might just pull it off. An end to democracy as we know it.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 9 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Yet in spite of that, people still allowed him back in in 24. People are stupid.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

No they didn't, he cheated, and EVERYBODY knows it. The Dems are just too afraid to say it out loud, or they'll have to investigate it, and they are too cowardly to do that because if they find out there was cheating, which we all know there was, they'll have to do something about it, and they are too cowardly to do that.

When I was a kid, others tried to bully me. I would rather take the pain of a fight, even if I lost, than the humiliation of being bullied weenie. So I fought a few times, and never got bullied or humiliated again. MAGA attacks Dems because they are bullies, and the Dems are weenies.

It makes me sick that the Dems won't defend themselves, which is why I've been a lifelong unaffiliated independent.

[–] hume_lemmy@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 hours ago

Just to point out, while it's good to stand up to bullies, the equation changes a lot when the "bully" is willing to escalate to killing you or your family in response. And Trump and his cult do seem willing to go there.

Are Dems generally spineless? Seems like it. Do they have reasonable cause to fear for their lives? I think so, too.

As a note, I think there's a fair number of Republicans scared of the same thing.

[–] Saledovil@sh.itjust.works 10 points 12 hours ago

Democrats did. Had the Democrats ensured he was properly prosecuted while Biden was president, Trump would be rotting in prison right now.

[–] ElJefe@lemmy.ca 42 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

All hail petty baby president poopy pants Donald the shit diaper trump

ok, but just watch as they confirm him anyhow. The usa is such a clownshow now.

[–] Blibly@lemmy.world 14 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

Yes the senate is weighted in favor of the rural vote which the GOP has spent decades capturing. Apparently no amount of obvious fuck ups will stop them from voting for the nazis each and every time. Pathetic.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

I think the rural vote is dominated by people that peaked in high school.

[–] Master167@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

The high school years, yes. I doubt they finished high school.

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 3 points 12 hours ago

I believe that's giving them too much credit.

[–] corbindallas@fedinsfw.app 14 points 15 hours ago

whats the fucking point of these if they just get the spot regardless? is this just majority/mob/nazi rule, no fucking disqualification?

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago

But that cheetoh dust tastes soooooo good.

[–] EvergreenGuru@lemmy.world 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Spies live for the subterfuge. Asking this guy to answer just makes him that much more excited.

[–] bold_atlas@lemmy.world 9 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

What spy? This fucker is just another nobody lolwyer that lives in Trump's ass.
