WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Wednesday that he is rolling out a new screening program for “testosterone deficiency” among troops, calling it necessary to allow them to operate at their “absolute best.”

The screenings will be conducted annually as part of service members’ required medical screenings for those 30 and older, he said. Troops under 30 can volunteer to be tested. In a video on social media, Hegseth said receiving testosterone replacement therapy would be voluntary.

Dicks out, soldiers! Take a look around. Is anyone in this room not currently sporting 10" of rock hard man meat? Get these sissies out of here. Men know what men like, and Pete is here to make sure this is a Man's Military for Hot Sweety Guys with Big Dicks again.

‘flu outbreak sickened at least nearly 300 people.’ is the end of the last sentence.

even the AP’s standards are trash these days. I imagine their AI editors and proofreaders skipped right over that.

He sure thinks of male bodies a whole lot. Except beards, he hates those. Too scratchy? Its almost a desperate sort of fixation. He seems to go through wives pretty rapidly too. Theres something they just all seem to lack I guess.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

His wives don't HAVE beards... they ARE beards

[–] IHeartBadCode@fedia.io 64 points 23 hours ago (4 children)

Is Hegseth going to be tested? Because all this is, is him indicating that everyone a hint over 30 will be fired.

As for the testosterone replacement, that is just irony that he's looking for gender affirming care for the military, when they just said they weren't for that.

[–] OpenPassageways@programming.dev 2 points 3 hours ago

Isn't this just a way to keep out women and trans women?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

Gender affirming care... like hormone therapy for men...

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

he will be testing the men personally.

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

He's made it so that only men are left in the military, hasn't he?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

Naww... they got rid of trans men, didn't they?

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Hegseth needs to have his liver enzymes checked.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 17 hours ago

what liver?

[–] kungen@feddit.nu 84 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yay for gender-affirming care!

[–] Murse@slrpnk.net 16 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Now in all new MANDATORY flavor!

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 hours ago

Every accusation... Man it's getting old.

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 4 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (1 children)

I've wondered about that reasoning. It's understandable for when going beyond replacement therapy dosages aka steroid usage territory, then yeah it falls under gender affirming care.
But why does replacement therapy fall under that as well, because replacement therapies goal isn't to make the person more muscular, it's just to fix a deficiency as the body functions best when everything is in a certain range and that's not limited to hormones either. And we do try to fix any other deficiencys as well, whatever through lifestyle changes, supplementation or even medical intervention.

[–] 42firehawk@fedinsfw.app 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

If it's for cross gender hormones it's gender affirming care. Doing the same treatment but within one's assigned gender therefore should also be considered gender affirming, because it's focusing on one's gender as the basis for the standards. For potassium levels there isn't a gendered range of values, but for testosterone, there is a set of values for men, and a different set for women.

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 3 points 17 hours ago

Fair point, thank you for elaborating. It makes more sense now.

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 19 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

I am sure they will soon be attaching a permanent meth drip to the soldiers as well for maximum aggression.
