Some like youth, some like men.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

I'm going to say overall many places they prefer youth. As if guys are expected to trim or shave their face, the people expecting it don't like men in the context your talking

[–] Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca 115 points 2 days ago (4 children)

I asked my ex gf once if I should shave, her reply was that it didn't matter to her.

Several weeks later while I was shaving my beard, I had one of those sporadic moments where I thought to myself...why not? So I kept shaving. Shaved my head, chest etc, everything. By the time I was done I was more aerodynamic than a fighter jet.

My gf refused to talk to me after that for two weeks.

Smart man. I heard that the hair is where the germs hide and we need to get rid of hair in order to be pure.

[–] daniskarma@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I also wouldn't talk to a Harkonnen

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 61 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Just checking: did she not talk to you because you were too slippery, too scratchy, you turned out to have looked better with your netherbeard, or because you left hair all over the bathroom?

I think it was several things, but the reason she gave me was that I looked too young. ( I was in my mid-40's and only a few years younger than her.)

I suspect that her bi-polar issues played into that though as well. She was a very difficult person to keep happy.

I was tempted to, but I was concerned people would think I'm a chemo patient so I left them alone.

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago

I know Lemmy hates centrists but have we considered the trimmed option?

[–] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 42 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Extremely controversial take, I’m sure: you don’t shave for other people. You shave for yourself.

[–] TAG@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

The only part of my hair grooming that is "for myself" is trimming my mustache so food does not get caught in it.

Everything else is is for looks and other people look at me much more often than I look at myself. Even when I see myself in a mirror, I try to see myself as others would see me. My wife is the person that looks at me the most and is the person whose opinion is most important to me, so I ask for her opinion about how I groom myself.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

I shave for other people. If no one was gonna suck my dick, then I would never shave - why go to the trouble, after all? But most people don't like hair getting stuck in their throat, so I shave. Because I care about my partners' experience.

I mean, sure, but that's mostly because I've gotten absolutely no feedback

[–] Master@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yep. You do you first and foremost. Then deal with the haters. I like my arms and legs trimmed down to 1/8". I also like my balls smooth. I can compromise and leave some bush up top if that's what my partner wants (though now that my wife is dead no one else to comment I guess) but the others are not really up for debate.

I also agree with that other guy that trimming your armpits goes a long way to helping look clean and not being overly sweaty. But a solid no to shaving them smooth. So uncomfortable and problematic when it starts to grow back.

[–] xkbx@startrek.website 31 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The deadpan casual comment of your spouse’s passing is perhaps one of the funniest deliveries I’ve ever heard. I’m so sorry for your loss

[–] Master@sh.itjust.works 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Thanks, it still hurts every day but what can you do but move forward... With a smooth ass ballsack!

Always put your best balls forward I say

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I had a girlfriend who said she doesn't like it that I trim my stuff short and I had to break it to her that I understand her preference but I do it for my own preference. I wouldn't expect her to cut her hair or paint her nails a particular way to suit me.

[–] did_you_find_violets@lemmy.world 53 points 2 days ago (5 children)

love my men as hairy as possible so i stand with her, not shaved for me tooπŸ’–

[–] GiantChickDicks@lemmy.ml 1 points 21 hours ago

Same! Especially forearms and chest... Yum!

If my guy prefers to keep things short for personal preference reasons of course I'd never ask him to grow it longer for me. I think it's important for guys that don't want to shave to know that there are lots of us out there that find body hair super sexy!

[–] xkbx@startrek.website 17 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Sounds like you’d be into strictly my buttcrack

Edit: I wrote that as a joke but knowing you I’m not sure who’s laughing

[–] basxto@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 day ago

but what about trimmed?

[–] bananabread@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

Hi πŸ‘‹

[–] Aedaz_@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Amy arms and legs look like those of a gorilla’s and I have no interest in trimming them.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Who is Amy and is she single?

[–] Aedaz_@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I can’t type for shit

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Not the point. Who the fuck is Amy.

[–] Aedaz_@lemmy.zip 3 points 18 hours ago

She is Sonic’s love interest from my understanding.

[–] ddplf@szmer.info 3 points 1 day ago

I find it really charming that you adore her just the way she is!

[–] Ekybio@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh so the whole bear vs. man debate actually about THAT! Good to know.

[–] slaacaa@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Would you rather meet a bear or a twink in the woods?

[–] omniman@anarchist.nexus 15 points 2 days ago (7 children)

I have never shaved any part of my body except the head but ngl when dick gets big and it tangles in the bush somehow that pain happens and the only way to solve it is to rotate my dick in public with hands but I can't do that soo gotta walk nonchalant

The chest hair is also a problem with zip tshirt it always tangles in that spikes

My friends have shaved their chest hair and some even dih should I also do it My parents says no but never tells the reason just no

I am a adult btw

[–] maltasoron@sopuli.xyz 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

when dick gets big and it tangles in the bush

what

how

[–] Sadbutdru@sopuli.xyz 24 points 2 days ago

Because of the extreme bendiness of a flaccid penis, and the highly dynamic forces at play in the crotch area during everyday activities like walking, sitting, lying in bed, transitioning between positions, and wearing clothes, people sometimes end up with a pube caught inside their foreskin.

[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 days ago

I keep everything groomed but never really shave anything smooth.

I've tried it and it feels nice for a second but the itching/scratching as it grows back just isn't worth it.

But I keep basically my entire body "groomed" to some extent, I just use some electric clippers and a short guards. You want it long enough to not be scratchy or itchy, but short enough to not be a tangled mess.

I'm a hairy adult btw.

[–] alsimoneau@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I occasionally shave my armpits. Having hair pop out of your shirt sleeves is not a great look, and I find they're less sweaty when shaved.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

I just use my beard trimmer with the body attachment and trim armpit and pubic hairs

[–] turtlesareneat@piefed.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Flipside tho, some of us are turned off by guys with shaved pits. Probably not enough to matter to you, but it's a thing.

[–] alsimoneau@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Good thing my gf doesn't care then.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

my heart rate monitor doesn't read properly unless I keep my chest hair short

[–] Schal330@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Trim the pubes, no need to go completely smooth. If you go completely smooth it is itchy when it grows back, plus you'll notice it a LOT more when it gets sweaty. I guess it could be the same for chest hair?

[–] Banana@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

Cant hurt to give it a try with some clippers tbh

You could try a compromise of a trim. Be very careful around the wobbly bits.

Finally someone says it

[–] lemmysmash@piefed.social 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Now this is an interesting shitpost 🍿
