One Trump voter issued a tear-filled video regretting his decision to vote for the president after his brother, who served with U.S. special forces, died while in Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In a video posted to social media, Naseer Paktyawal tearfully recalled his brother's service to the country and the moment that ICE "kidnapped" him in front of his son, Imrin. ABC News initially posted the video.

...

"I saw two cars unmarked. Seven, eight people jump out of those cars," Paktyawal said. "One on the driver's side, one on the back of his car, and grabbed him from his seat and put a handcuff on him."

Mohammad Nazeer Paktyawal's son, Imrin, was also featured in the video and recalled witnessing his father's arrest. "I was standing there, and then they came and just take him," the boy said.

Imrin added that he was "standing there" as the agents hauled his father away. "I was like, just don't take him, please," Imrin recalled.

According to Paktyawal, he later received a call from an ICE facility. "I thought they were going to release him back," Imrin said.

"He said, 'Are you, Naseer?' That's me," Paktyawal said. "Your brother Mohamed Nasir Paktyawal passed away this morning and his body is laying down in a parking lot in the hospital."

...

"My first vote was for this president, and I regret it, and I'm gonna regret it for the rest of my life," he added. "Because of me, because of my voting, He got arrested, and he lost his life. And I'm never going to forgive myself for that."

CNN reported that he was taken by ICE agents outside of his Dallas apartment and died less than a day after being in ICE custody. His family said that Mohammad had no known health conditions and had been seeking asylum in the U.S. since his arrival in 2021.

“He said, ‘Are you, Naseer?’ That’s me,” Paktyawal said. “Your brother Mohamed Nasir Paktyawal passed away this morning and his body is laying down in a parking lot in the hospital.”

If this wasn't his brother, but just some random "illegal", he wouldn't have given two shits about another human being laying dead in a parking lot. He voted for other people he's never heard of to be killed and dumped in a parking lot. But because it's his brother now he regrets his vote.

Fuck this shit stain and fuck everyone like him.

CNN reported that he was taken by ICE agents outside of his Dallas apartment and died less than a day after being in ICE custody. His family said that Mohammad had no known health conditions and had been seeking asylum in the U.S. since his arrival in 2021.

At some point, as with records at the fall of the Soviet Union, these crimes will be exposed. Or, perhaps not. If it's all digital, it's a lot easier to destroy.

Welcome to America, where the rules are made up and your death doesn't matter.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Sounds like they abducted him and murdered him and then dumped his body and they're not even trying to hide it.

By their Persian-sounding names, I'm assuming they're Afghani. It seems like this is one of the families the US brought out to protect them from the Taliban. People who worked with the US forces while they were there.

But his name was Mohamed. So clearly that's why ICE did this to him.

At least his brother has more self-awareness than most maga idiots whose family members get taken away or killed. This is the first time I remember reading anyone who voted for trump saying "I'll regret my vote for the rest of my life."

https://www.tpr.org/news/2026-03-23/how-an-afghan-man-who-aided-u-s-military-forces-died-in-ice-custody-in-texas

You are correct, he served along side Americans starting in 2005 and was legally relocated here. He was legal to be in the country until 2029, but ICE officials refused to look at his documentation.

The ice.gov site also slanders his name calling him a felon, but when NPR ran his background check it came up clean.

Father of 6, healthy 41 yo male with no PMH. Suddenly dies of what sounds like a poisoning shortly after being in ICE custody.

God damn, this makes me so mad

[–] ThatFuckingIdiot@sh.itjust.works 53 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Exactly, wtf. How did this guy die?

I'm guessing the Meal Team 6 highschool dropouts didn't like having an actual service member in their midst, and executed him.

[–] UnspecificGravity@piefed.social 19 points 4 days ago

Exterminated by the mobile extermination team and dumped on the street.

They cold-bloodedly execute citizens whose families have been here for generations, in front of dozens of witnesses, and on camera and nothing happens to them.

A citizen s life is worth less to them the the cost of the ammo they use, they don't even view immigrants as people.

To be fair, he just couldn't vote for Harris.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 25 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Well, man up, you voted for this!

[–] notsure@fedia.io 7 points 3 days ago

No, sir, it was Biden and the Democrats fault. My actions could never have caused this. /s

Part of me feels really bad about this and another part of me is thinking womp womp.

When a lying cheating criminal, convicted of dozens of felonies, tells you he is gonna do bad stuff if he gets reelected, and you vote for him, the bad stuff he does is on you too. And you get to live with it.

The real victims are the ones who recognized the evil voted against it and had it forced on them anyway.

I think most of the reactions here are sad. Yes, he voted for Trump, but he just lost a brother, man. It’s the same thing with Brexit over here in Europe and the far-right parties gaining more and more ground: people who don’t know any better and want easy solutions to the big problems we are facing get manipulated by scum looking to make themselves rich. Don’t be mad at him for being manipulated. Be mad at the pests manipulating them.

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

Nah, they literally voted for this to happen.

It'd be like someone running on a platform to kill gay people. They get elected and start killing gay people. The guy who voted for the person to kill gay people has a brother who is gay. That brother is killed. He never thought they would kill HIS brother!

The Trump Administration is doing exactly what they said they would do. They campaigned on this for years. And people with immigrant family members voted for it anyway.

So with my whole chest, fuck this asshole and fuck him for voting for it. I hope he feels at fault for what happened for the rest of his life. I hope he has future days he voted for, because he voted for the day his brother was killed.

[–] InputZero@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

Fuck that. Fuck forgiveness. Fuck this and every fucking Nazi dick sucking Trump voter. What fascism is only a problem when it's on his front door? What about Renee Good, Keith Porter, Glen Burnie, Carlos Jimenez, who were shot and/or killed by ICE? Those deaths didn't convince him what is happening is wrong, it had to be a close loved one for him to smarten up.

[–] mursejoy@lemmy.zip 11 points 3 days ago (9 children)

I disagree to a point. It is absolutely reasonable to be frustrated with someone gullible enough to believe “fix grocery prices on day one.” These voters were either stupid or purposely ignorant, and I’m willing to bet most of them are both.

Nobody in their right mind believes that one person can wave a magic wand and fix everything in one day. I do think these people get what they voted for and unfortunately for this guy it’s a dead brother in ICE custody. Tragic state of affairs but not unforeseeable with Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric and Elon’s full Nazi salute on stage. These people knew exactly what they were voting for and it’s only sad because it affects them now.

"Didn't know any better" no they knew exactly well, they're grown adults and they chose to vote for a well document child rapist because they wanted him to unleash hell on immigrants. Well, he knew well enough his brother is an immigrant, what did he think would happen? He thought all the other immigrants could end deported or dead but he thought him and his family were better than other immigrants and would be spared.

He voted to kill his brother and he got exactly what he voted for.

MAGA are cowards in every sense of the word. I hope this particular one feels guilt over causing his brother’s death. His bigotry resulted in his brother being killed by his savior’s gestapo.

[–] notsure@fedia.io 26 points 4 days ago (1 children)

He won't. He will vote for the populist asshole that gives him good feelies at the moment

My first vote was for this president, and I regret it, and I'm gonna regret it for the rest of my life," he added. "Because of me, because of my voting, He got arrested, and he lost his life. And I'm never going to forgive myself for that.

There are many people who have lost loved ones exactly the way you did, who will suffer for the rest of their lives, and they're going to regret it for the rest of their lives, because of you, because of your voting, they got arrested and lost their lives.

I will never forgive you for that.

Two in the thoughts, one in the prayers you wretched fuck.

[–] AgentSeven@lemmy.zip 28 points 4 days ago (1 children)

33% of this country thinks everything is going great and so would this asshole if his brother was still alive. I'll feel a shred of sympathy for the first one I ever see say "I want to apologize to everyone whose lives were affected by my vote, I didn't care about what happened to you, only me. I won't make that mistake again." I'm still waiting and I'll be waiting forever because these sociopaths have not the slightest trace of empathy.

Odds that in November he

A. Votes GOP

B. Votes Dem

C. Abstains

My guess is still A.

I still have zero sympathy for anyone who voted Trump. Double so if you're not white straight male who voted Trump. There were a multitude of signs, and people warning you of your decision and you went forward anyway. This is all his fault

y'all really fell for the "empathy is a disease" meme

the most incredible thing about conservatives is their ability to self-replicate. when i die in a natural disaster caused by government cuts the only thing you'll remember about me is that I'm from a red state, fuck em

He had a brother called Muhammad that had been seeking asylum yet still voted for the guy who wanted to deport all the people who were seeking asylum, especially if they had a name like Muhammad

But he already got the citizenship, so the "fuck you, I got mine" mentality set in
