Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Reporters and photographers were told by Senate staff not to take video of his remarks in the second-floor hallway, even though video is often permitted in that area. Still images were allowed.

From the AP article

Something is fucked for sure with this and they are all covering it up

Video would make his unresponsive condition apparent.

He’s being kept alive.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

weekend at MITCH, backstory, his wife chao went to China with his phylactery in order to use lindsey graham's soul to reanimate the lich.

[–] TallonMetroid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

It's unfortunate that Jack Burton wasn't able to finish Mitch off like he did with Lo Pan, but at least he was still successful in saving an innocent jade-eyed lady.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 154 points 4 days ago (10 children)

Wtf??? That worthless fucking ghoul is still alive???

This is an absolute ass timeline...

You cannot kill that which has no life.

[–] NekoKoneko@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

American gerontocracy.

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 41 points 3 days ago

He heard a vote about paid sick leave was presented, and so had to come in and vote against.

[–] Undearius@lemmy.ca 69 points 4 days ago (6 children)

“My recovery has been a long and often frustrating process, and the lingering effects of childhood polio haven’t made it any easier,” McConnell said

He's old enough to have had polio.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 42 points 4 days ago

Well. He’s certainly not young enough to have had polio.

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Rumor has it he arrived on Earth on the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs

[–] einlander@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

But they want to ban vaccines.

He's like 10 years older than Ruby Bridges, I think. That would have made him old enough to scream at her while she was going into her school building or throw rocks at black people going into soda fountains.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago

Are we sure it’s not a clone of Mitch, or a ghola perhaps.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 41 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (6 children)

The only thing that makes sense to me is he's completely unable to speak. Other than that, no idea why everything would have unfolded the way it did and is.

Edit: He's talking too. Something stinks. Not saying it's not him, but there's something being hidden for sure.

[–] dregan@lemmy.world 20 points 4 days ago (3 children)

It took some time for the dark magic absorbed through the ritual sacrifice of Lindsey Graham to fully restore Mitch to a shadow of his living self.

How long can they move him around before the wire implants degrade?

[–] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Some one brought something up when I shared to discord;

he's a millionaire, why is he riding around in a Travel Wheelchair? (cheapest, least comfortable option, usually only used when travelling for the fact that it can be collapsed quite small for car journeys)

[–] dustyData@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Because accessibility is DEI.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

One of the worst Americans in the history of this country. Hopefully he doesn't last much longer.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

[–] Ariselas@piefed.ca 14 points 4 days ago

[–] DonutsRMeh@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago
