Super cool to know if I was murdered by a foreign government my representative wouldn’t give a shit.

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 34 points 5 days ago

Haha "your" representative.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I don't know why people expect different from gym shorts guy. I really hope he gets replaced.

Hey man, there’s nothing wrong with a Pennsylvania tuxedo

You’re right.

I respect people more if they’re in a hoodie and I don’t respect senators.

They should wear suits so we know they’re untrustworthy as the suits on Wall Street.

Fetterman's proof that you need to have brain damage to be conservative

[–] StabbingSky@lemmy.zip 14 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Eh, not necessarily. My dad became maga after his TBI. He was just a garden variety fiscal conservative before (because he's a financial advisor).

But he's also a diagnosed narcissist with an attachment disorder, so who knows

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 15 points 5 days ago

People who worked for him before he was in DC said so, multiple times.

Could have ended the headline after the first 3 words.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago

To block. To BLOCK!!

I mean what kind of fucking sicko does that??? Oh nevermind, I know the answer: a regressive republican, aka the Pedo Party.

[–] Astronut@lemmy.zip 13 points 5 days ago

Pricks of a feather fuck the world over together!

If it talks like a duck

and it steps like a goose…

IT’S A-NAZI

[–] thefluffiest@feddit.nl 7 points 5 days ago

Im sure he’s well paid. But not by his voters

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Everyone should've known during his campaign, as he endorsed fracking unreservedly. As I did, as an anti fracking activist.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The problem is, he squeezed through the primary, then was against doc oz. A man who made fetterman look positively sane in comparison.

The primary system and ordinal voting gave us this jackass, and many more of them.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Ranked choice avoids this. Which can pass in the 30 some states with voter sponsored ballot initiatives.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Ranked Choice does not in fact solve anything and is in fact an ordinal voting system.

It too suffers from Arrows Impossibility Theorem.

Which is par for a system first invented and abandoned in 1785.

Cardinal voting systems are the only way to fix things long term.

Basically ordinal systems are built around the word "or". You can support A or B and you must choose.

Cardinal systems are based around the word "and". You can show the exact same level of support for multiple candidates, because in the end if there are two or three good candidates, who cares what order they're in, just so long as one of them wins.

Approval, Score, and STAR are all good options. STAR was even designed this century with computer modeling and a modern understanding of social choice theory.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I do realize there are even better systems, none of them have any play now, and ranked choice keeps people like Sarah Palin out of government.

Germany has an interesting system, but we could never do that here outside of a few states maybe.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

There have been so many fuckups with ranked choice elections for me to ever recommend them.

Also, Palin acted as a spoiler candidate in that election. Which is still a thing in ranked choice.

ALL TRAITORS

Look how easy it was to get a conservative in the dems. Voters fell for that rigged shit. “Stroke” my ass, this shit was planned. Amerikkka drinks this drama like a sugar energy drink.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 4 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Bernie Sanders even endorsed and rallied with him.

This conspiracy goes really high if Bernie is an undercover conservative too.

[–] Carrots@quokk.au 5 points 5 days ago

Bernie fell for it, he’s not in on it. They (dems) don’t all have to be in on it or it’s not a thing. He’s a plant. A mole. A fake. Undercover cunt. Secret Republican. Etc.

[–] Yuccagnocchiyaki@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Considering his long career, Bernie would be the worst conservative operative.

Don't get me wrong, I like and respect Bernie for his integrity and leadership. But he is just a pressure release valve, allowed to be in government, to make progressives think they have a voice in government.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social -1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Considering he's had a long career and hasn't started a movement he may be the best.

[–] Yuccagnocchiyaki@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It's most definitely started movements, what are you talking about?

Bernie has been at the heart of many political movements, he just won't take corporate and Israeli money. Should tell you something

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social -1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

He's going on two hundred and he has AOC and Fetterman under his belt as accomplishments.

[–] Yuccagnocchiyaki@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

An incredibly ignorant response.

What a joke

Sometimes it hurts to hear the truth.

[–] bunnybunny@lemmy.zip 1 points 5 days ago

Money, they’re all hot for money.

[–] WraithGear@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

who saw that comin…. who saw where that came from!

vote blue no matter who strikes again

[–] ghostface@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

If only PA residents could transfer their passion and sports analysis over to politics and political analysis...

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

If only we elected senators every two years instead of six, or had some method for recalling them if they turn out bad.

[–] VeryVito@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

There is nothing the GOP likes better than a coverup!

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.today 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Conservatives are pure evil and should be dealt with as such.

[–] mHtt@lemmy.ca 0 points 4 days ago

Politicians who switch sides are WORSE than criminals IMO
