You must post before you leave

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Avoid shilling for corporations, posting advertisements, or promoting exploitation of workers.

Proselytization, support, or defense of authoritarianism is not welcome. This includes but is not limited to: imperialism, nationalism, genocide denial, ethnic or racial supremacy, fascism, Nazism, Marxism-Leninism, Maoism, etc.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Yes, absolutely. And the weapon in the Z is called a Sollbruchstellenverursacher.

[–] SlothMama@lemmy.world 10 points 15 hours ago

Actually false. Makes it's rounds sometimes.

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 8 points 16 hours ago

I'm not so sure that "Ocarina of Time" was a hugely serious and heavyweight title in the first place.

You can still say fuck on the internet, idk what kind of anti fuck propaganda this is.

[–] Zizzy@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Do you think it is more likely i personally made this meme or that im posting shitposts that slightly amuse me to share the joy because its low effort while still being a benefit?

[–] jjj@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

I'm not claiming that you made that screenshot. I appreciate everything else about it, but I wish you had found a clean version.

[–] morto@piefed.social 13 points 20 hours ago

It's probably engagement bait at this point

I made this comment because self censorship is a problematic pattern that should have no place on the Fediverse. Saying nothing is equivalent to endorsement, to which I cannot morally oblige.

Thank you for your perspective, I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on the matter.

Every time someone doesn’t use a swear this comment is expected. Some people don’t want to swear idk let them not?

I’ve seen similar comments under freaking, I’m pretty sure, too. So…

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago) (1 children)

If they don’t want to swear they could say “freaking” rather than fucking like a good Christian middle schooler. They still want to swear, they’re just cowards who also want algorithmic engagement on corporate social media, and that’s the issue people have.

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Anytime someone uses a swear, nothing. Anytime someone doesn’t spell the entire word out, this bizarre dog piling. What is with this weird mandated speech? Just let people do rust they want.

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Yeah, you’ve basically understood it. I don’t mind people swearing. I don’t mind people not swearing. In both cases, because I don’t mind people doing whatever they want. People who want to swear, but also feel like they can’t/shouldn’t, are the ones who self censor. They’re being inauthentic to themselves and everyone else. I find it sad at best, unsettling and dystopian at worst.

[–] carotte@lemmy.blahaj.zone 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

[–] basxto@discuss.tchncs.de 76 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

This is fake. The original title is Das Flöten Tröten

[–] Redjard@reddthat.com 17 points 17 hours ago

Fluten Duten seems plausibly dutch.

[–] UpperBroccoli@feddit.org 21 points 1 day ago

Blockflöte der Zeit

wörtlich: Die Legende von Zelda: Okarina der Zeit

(Wörtlich means literally)

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time

[–] Aatube@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

that means it’s the literal translation, or the actual meaning of the foreign title while the german translators used something different. in this case there was no german title

for example, on the article for EarthBound, you have:

Japanese: MOTHER2ギーグの逆襲, Hepburn: Mazā Tsū: Gīgu no Gyakushū; lit. Mother 2: Gyiyg Strikes Back

(lit. means literally)

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Anyone can edit Wikipedia. It's actually Das Fluten Luten

[–] Chee_Koala@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Look up some of your favorite Pokemon names in German. Gave me a couple good laughs, and some mild crying.

You know what they call Pikachu in German? Elektrische Ratte!

[–] tacosanonymous@lemmy.blahaj.zone 25 points 1 day ago (2 children)

If they really wanted me to believe that, it would say, “Die Legende von Zelda:”

[–] basxto@discuss.tchncs.de 26 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Zelda-Legende: Zeitorkarina
