I'm not too excited for this one. Fury Road was great. I hope I'm wrong and this is better than trailer lets on.

As soon as I saw that weirdly proportioned wide eyed actress, I knew this was going to be a bad one. Charlize Theron did well as Furiosa, but I can't picture Anya Taylor-Joy portraying Furiosa in a believable way.

Maya Hawk would've been better but she's less popular on social media; the #1 deciding factor in who gets roles now.

Number 1 factor is and always has been, how much do they cost.

Edit: starting the comment with '#' makes it big. I forgot that. Sorry. I didn't mean to shout

Except the bug eye girl costs way more than the stranger things girl

I'm still trying to figure out if her eyes really are that far apart, or if since it's her "brand" they use makeup to exaggerate it. I swear her earlier work, they didn't seem as pronounced.

I mean... I'm easy to please so I'll probably enjoy the movie.

I'm sure it'll be perfectly enjoyable

This looks terrible. I couldn't make it through the trailer.

Beautiful, clean, people with long, well styled hair in colorfully dyed outfits in front of badly done CG. This is the antithesis of what I want from a Mad Max film.

Yeah Fury Road worked because it did so many practical stunts. This looks as bad as recent DC movies.

Damn that thumbnail really doesn’t look good

[–] UKFilmNerd@feddit.uk 4 points 7 months ago

Some of the CGI doesn't look good. I'm hoping it's footage that's not quite completed yet.

[–] MrGerrit@feddit.nl 5 points 7 months ago

Yeah, I love a mad max movie without mad max in it...

[–] wjrii@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

So who is Chris Hemsworth playing? And does this end with Furiosa having a decade or more of slavery in front of her? I am confused about the timeline, but I think I'm just about the only person in my demographic who didn't love Fury Road, so maybe I'm just meant to be out of the loop. Oh well. When does Dune 3 come out?

Oh, good you posted it too! I'll remove mine ha ha

Sorry, I should've sorted by new, maybe you were first! :-)

[–] Blaze@dormi.zone 3 points 7 months ago

It was a matter of seconds, don't worry! :-)
