Now that I take on a bunch of client work I'm noticing it's pretty common to be ghosted after I reply to inquiries about pricing and availability. I pride myself on quick responses and I keep my emails short and sweet to not overwhelm. I'm priced on the mid to high end side for my city ($400 for a 1hr shoot, video work starting at $1,000), however, I don't have a public-facing pricing sheet based on the back and forth advice I see on the internet. I'm thinking it's mostly just sticker shock from people expecting to pay way less?

Do other professionals experience the same behavior? If so, any tips to help combat it?

I also see it on the other end when I'm reaching out to potential clients I'd like to work with. Zero acknowledgement that I even tried to contact them, even with referrals.

This is all I think about now that I take on client work on the side. How can I quit my full time job to do full time photography and buy a farm, join the country club of my dreams, and a brand new Land Rover 😭

Customers ghosting me after my response to their inquiry

There’s a button you can set when manually focusing that zooms in like 800x to help you see if you’re actually nailing the focus on your subject. After some practice it’s not too hard to toggle back and forth and snap the photo pretty quickly

I’m not entirely sure what your ask is in this post. I’m sorry to say but as a business owner your designs aren’t up to modern standards. If I were in the market for web designers I’d spend about 5 seconds on your site before moving on. Others are echoing the same sentiment so maybe take a good hard look at what’s going on.

Pretty much Instagram only. I’m posting the most I’ve ever posted in the last decade and my works the best it’s ever been and I’m getting the least amount of views ever. Went from around 200-300 views on stories to about 80. Post likes used to be front loaded with likes the moment you post and now my good friends don’t even see my post in their feed for hours. The algorithm is fucked

By the time you get that far you’ll be drooling over something new anyway

I’ll say I made a separate account for a niche subject I photograph. I only have 650 followers but I’ve got a few jobs out of it.
