I think calling V-shape signatures bad for vocals is a bit too broad. It's really all about where that rise is. For example the early rise in the upper mids is part of the characteristic of sparkling female vocals. Also v-shape signatures tend to make percussion really pop which is a big part of hip-hop and EDM.
Antiwhippy
Why do people still go for the 990 vs the much improved 900 pro X?
Snake oil assumes that it's trying to sell you something else other than what's advertised.
Honestly looking at the graph it has right now you might like the 7Hz legato, but also for much cheaper options I would recommend the the Kiwi ears cadenza or QKZxHBB
If anything that's what the maestro series is known for. Incredibly deep subs that doesn't intrude into the mids. Well, the Maestro mini anyway. The Scarlet mini is more for the bassheads who want unapologetic bass. Which is why I can't wait for mine.
Of course it depends on what your taste are when it comes to how intrusive you want the bass to be. If you want a balanced signature that still can throw down with deep and rich bass it's why I love my Thieaudio hype 2.
At $100 sure.
But right now it's pretty unanimously the Fatfreq Maestro series.
This is just a classic V-shape lol.
Yeah this has been a known problem. Actually shameful that they didn't give you a full refund, it's purely the build quality fault of the Dark Sabre.
I actually not that recently had a chance to AB the HD600 and HD800s back to back and they are crazy different lol. I think you would have to have hearing loss at the higher frequencies to not notice how much brighter it is.
