Did you just compare a manual lens to one with auto focus?

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a Program, which can automatically backup folders from one HDD to the 2nd. I have a windows PC. In that I have 2 separate HDDs installed. I'd love to have it automatically copy over to the 2nd HDD installed.

I guess this is almost RAID1, but essentially it's more of a backup than redudancy.

Is there a program you guys can recmomend for that?

I'm looking for budget IEMs (sub 50), got the Truthear x Zero recommended but they don't seem to get discounted

I have no idea but I assume because of physics? Let's say we have a flat sound curve. Now you want more base, more mids and more highs. All in equal amounts, this not just result in a flat curve that's boosted? aka more volume

Nothing major but:

Finding out there is no such thing as "compression". I was long under the impression, that something like a 135mm can't be replaced with cropping and a long lens can't be replaced.

Well I was wrong. A photo with a 24mm can be cropped to look just like one from a 135mm (or more). obviously we would need enough megapixels and would need an appropriate aperture to match the look, but the "compression" would be the same.

Since then my shooting style changed. Favouring high megapixels and worrying even less about the Tele end

unfortunately, most of my non-photogrpahy friends find it rather strange to take pictures of strangers

To me it seem's like you booked a class for professional studio (portrait) photography, without wanting that.

While everybody has their on technique, the points he made are very valid.

  1. Reason for that is, that in a studio, there is no background to be blurred, so there is no real advantage of the wide aperture. since you are in the studio, you have enough lights to compensate. Using smaller aperture like F5.6 or higher, results in sharper images. Of course if you know that you want something blurry, you can shoot wide open, but that is rather untypical for studio work
  2. use what works for you. he is probably used to the old days, when the display was very inaccurate. There are many great photographers only using the display. if its about checking sharpness and accuracy, nothing beats tethered shooting and checking the image on a larger screen
  3. well, light is king. You can get excellent shots with natural light or a single light only. Guess this class focused on getting the best possible if you have a studio to use
  4. .. check manny ortiz youtube channel, that guy works alone in his studio. many others as well.
  5. ok i call complete BS on this. DSLRs are so heavy for me, that I start shaking almost

Hi all,

TLDR: If I have to step down my aperture on a Full frame to get all people in focus, do I just lose the low light advantage I'm looking for compared to APSC?

Long version:

I am shooting a lot of low light parties. As a hobby for our little anime comunity. As it is rather casual, I don't bring a flash. (Have a little corner with a flash setup for cosplayers though).

Now, to my "issue". This is always in a very dark environment. With my Sony a6000 and a Sigma 30 F1.4, I always have to up to ISO 5000-6400 and still have to pull up shadows in post. While the new denoising features in LR is extrememly helpful, it can't safe everything. Pulling up the shadows in that area results in very colorful noise, then applying AI denoise with 40-50 results in artifacts and too soft images. (Apart from the fact that it takes very long to apply this to a bulk of images)

I therefor looking to upgrade to full frame for additional low light performance. sometimes shallower DOF is also desired. The issue is, during the events I'm taking pictures of groups of people. Multiple sitting together at tables. not in the same plane of focus.

Therefor I'd have to step down my aperture, but in this case, I'd guess I just loose the low light advantage I'd gain over APSC right?

Thank you for your help!
