Yea he is fundraising and giving his weight to an issue rather than donating his own wages. John does deserve to keep the money he earns after working as a writer for like twenty years.

I never noticed how insidious this was. I thought it was really funny at first. Like oh, I groaned and he's reminding me to have fun. But he has taken it to mean his audience needs to be exposed to grifters and harmful talking points disguised as "challenging ideas"

I mean I really kept watching Bill after he dropped the N-word, I am a die hard comedy fan and it's effectively impossible to cross the line with me. But Bill Maher is completely full of shit.

If I wanted to search for unverified info or misinfo, I could, but almost always I am lookkng for factual and sourced information. Please don't force me to do otherwise.

That's funny because this system is highly inefficient and anti-meritocratic. The marketplace of ideas seems like it doesn't even stock my favorite brands.

Seriously he couldn't pass the Build Back Better plan but then the Inflation Reduction Act provides a potentially unlimited amount of incentives/subsidies for green energy.

Painting him as "just a moderate" on this issue is some centrist level bullshit, OP. He's clearly giving oil, gas, and military convenient wins so they don't ruin the world before the next US election. Yes, the oil barons have more political power than a sifnificant amount of voters.

It's Bloomberg anyway, I won't spend my brain cells reading their version of the story

Unemployment is a luxury that the rich can afford more of.

This is reactionary / luddite logic at this point. We can do both. Easily.

In my ideal society, we have a state captured by the need for innovation and invention. We cannot solve our problems fast enough, and the state is driving science and technology at blazing fast speed. Joking a bit, of course.

I see Progressive is more like a political adjective. Someone who's jumping to Capitalism Bad is probably a Soc. Dem. Or a Communist. But even a Liberal could be Progressive. Those bold argument types are probably never gonna have real power anyway. Don't let a rotten apple spoil the bunch.

Space ia very divorced from Capitalism. Capitalists don't pony up the funds for it, the public does. The state collects taxes for it.

The illusion of choice

The power dynamic between employer and employee remains the same, because their relative negotiating power is largely unchanged, and so would be the balance of wealth.

Louder for the people in the back.
