Meta is all about metadata and what’s the best type of metadata? The metadata generated from private conversations. Them to use Signal or something else where they don’t have a humongous ad business or an AI dream to fill.
Another leg up for the Chinese from the American AI bubble! Think how long it would have taken to penetrate the memory market if there wasn’t an artificial shortage.
Don’t use any of them much and from my limited experience they all seem to be pretty much the same. In fact DeepSeek probably has been a little better than ChatGPT.
From what I’ve seen, it highlights that the most pressing change with the least resistance is to get off coal and oil as quickly as possible. Agriculture requires too many people to change for it to happen quickly which is why the fossil fuel lobby love to use it as a red herring.

Whenever the US car industry seems to be moving towards EVs a major correction takes place and more huge vehicles appear instead. They obviously aren’t serious and will go the way of the buggy whip if they can’t replace management with people who can plan for the long term.
It’s very similar in that it was introduced years ago, requires access to a machine, allows privileged access and is easy to exploit. There are a lot of people that would love it.
Really depends on your point of view. Personally I see the US AI push as a maximum harvest and it is hard to see the Chinese as being worse. The US has really gone flat out destroying whatever credibility and moral authority they may have had. As I said I don’t use the technology that much and the queries are pretty innocuous, so it may be different for others.
