It's a stupid idea, but it also won't make a difference. Mirrors aren't going to increase the total amount of radiation hitting the Earth, in an amount that can actually make any difference.
The surface area of the Earth is 510,000,000 square kilometers. How much surface area of mirrors can they even fit in a sun synchronous orbit at the edge of dusk or dawn, where the satellite is catching sunlight but not casting a shadow over a part of Earth? Even if they put up a million satellites with mirrors that are 324 square meters that's only 324 million square meters, or 324 square kilometers. In other words, their most optimistic projection involves increasing sunlight by about 0.00006%.
It's a disaster for astronomy, and for ecological balance for any affected wildlife, but won't actually heat up the Earth.

I’m truly in awe of nature. Gaia as a living being has gotten a virus. And though lots of other species are affected and some have gone or will go extinct because of this, the species that are going to see the biggest % culling of their numbers and those who survive will have to adapt to most of all species is the exact species gaia’s trying to teach a lesson - if not outright get rid of.
The species who will suffer the most and go extinct has had nothing to do with this. The climate change is all on humans, but most other species will suffer and die along with us. There are species going extinct right this moment on account of climate change.
Meanwhile it is unlikely humans will go extinct, because we are much more capable of adapting than all those highly specialised species who suffers the most.
Gaia sounds like an abusive parent in that case. Last time I checked it was her and her affair with evolution that threw us into the picture.

What I got from seeing this thunderous stuborn belief in religion and first and second comings, it that perhaps we are a GMO of apes by some ET species reprogrammed for mining and grabbing (accidentally discovering caffeine and inventing capitalism along the way) some rare resources or for terraforming for a different species for when they come again (this second coming shit I keep hearing about, which seems reason enough to justify the Palestian genocide and now litterally lighting the world on fire).
In either scenario, humans ~~wont be~~ aren't the beneficiaries.
There aren't many issues in this world that Billionaires haven't caused.

This is the crux of it, and not enough emphasis is placed on this. It is the unprecedented rate of warming more than the total amount that is of greatest concern if you've studied any paleoclimatology and seen how long it takes for natural systems to re-establish in a new climate regime.
There has been a lot of study on how the transition to the current interglacial climate affected the biogeography, and you can see how forests, coral reefs, etc. were still trying to relocate several thousands of years into it. Now, of course, they're screwed, and we have mass forest fires and the like because they have no hope of adapting anymore.
Humans tend to believe we are unbeatable. In reality, in 100, 200 years we may have disappeared completely. This has happened to many other species.
Humans are the most adaptable species in the history of the planet. Humans will survive, but it will be at MUCH lower numbers. And it won't be people in bunkers.
I’d say horseshoe crabs still beat us in terms of adaptability, they’ve been around since the Triassic (>250 million years ago).
sponges and cnidarians beat them to it, 500-600million years. and jellyfish have been exploding in numbers all over due to temperature rises, generally more tolerant to pollution than fishes, and lack of too many predators.
Those aren’t quite as specified as horseshoe crabs though (which are a taxonomic family, just above genus and species respectively). Sponges and jellyfish are both much more varied and encompass more than one class.
Similarly I can say that Reptiles beat horseshoe crabs since they’ve been around at least ~50 million years longer than the latter, but that wouldn’t really be a fair comparison because they encompass far more species than just horseshoe crabs. Regarding lasting a long time evolutionarily while staying relatively undiversified, horseshoe crabs are still uniquely notable. They aren’t called living fossils for nothing.
For now. They're also farmed and used to an even older climate than we are. There's really no good way to tell what will survive and what won't.
I wonder how long after modern living humans are gone it'll take the Earth to get back to balance?

Observational evidence suggests to me that if there is a 'higher' being, it is in no way looking out for us. It is much more likely to be the supernatural equivalent of a 10-year old pulling the wings off of flies and cooking ants with a magnifying glass.
If this is looking after people then I wonder what other people in the universe are experiencing. Are we all being treated so poorly?
They're saying the idea is nice. Not that it's real. When all hope is lost, it would be handy to have an omnipotent being on your side. So the idea of one existing would be comforting, regardless of the actual existence.
