Barkley had a very unbarkley like comment last night in regards to rudy G and towns. However in the past year or so results of small quick guards have been mixed, even though GMs have continued to draft and sign combo guards to outlandish contracts

  • Jordan Poole - signed a 4/128 contract and was one of the worst players on GSWs roster last year

  • Tyler Herro - signed a 4/120, Decent offensively last year but his percentages regressed from the prior year, and Miami played much better without him in the playoffs

  • Anfernee simons - signed a 4/100, played well offensively on a poor team, but awful defensively

Other young guys:

Tyrese maxey - up for a huge payday and looking like a perennial all star

Jaden Ivey - #5 pick, results mixed so far entering year 2

Scoot Henderson - too early to tell, struggling a few games in

Almost all of these guys have horrific defense which diminishes their offensive plusses. So is Barkley right about smalls?

Genuinely shocked for some reason. Not at his age, but because I remember him as a total fireball that he would go on for a while

I like how he held his follow through. The mark of a great shooter

Better than Mobley? He’s better than prime hakeem, prime Tim Duncan, kareem and Russell. Still has some to go for offense but his upside is wilt at minimum

Its ok I have league pass. So I can watch every team except my local team the warriors

There’s been 20 posts on Scottie barnes the past hour. He’s amazing, I get it. Maybe I’m being pessimistic but I don’t see the raptors as the next dynasty like a lot of people here

Not sure why you need to say 40% from 3 when he went 2-5. If he went 20/50 from 3 it would be worth mentioning

I would choose KD a top 15 player of all time over klay. But that’s just my opinion

I don’t agree with it but they have been mentioned because their games for so seamlessly

They’re typically not mentioned as the best over mj Scottie, magic kareem, malone Stockton and bird mchale. I think the primary reason is the regular season accolades weren’t great due to voter fatigue, team success, and injuries.

Curry was regarded as the best or second player in the nba after the back to back mvps, and KD was 3rd behind lebron after being the more recent mvp. They were both in their primes as top 15-20 players all time, fit seamlessly and had all the team success with the chips.

The two duos that are typically at the top are mj/ Scottie, and Kareem magic

Arguments against MJ Scottie, MJ is the greatest ever but Scottie was closer to the top 5-10 player during his era at his peak.

Magic Kareem: Kareem’s last dominant mvp year was magics rookie year. Definitely a longer stretch as a duo but for 2 year stretches, they didn’t win back to back titles until kareem was 41

Honorable mention is Cousy and bill but none of us remember that.

Tmac was one of the youngest hall of famers. Short and young prime for him

He’s got a good shot. Zach lowe said that he and others would vote him in. One of the best defensive wings in our generation, and the warriors best floor general in their dynasty years. He has finals mvp, all star in Philly, 2 all defensive teams, Olympic and fibs golds, 4 rings and 7 finals. This isn’t a Robert horry situation, he’s got legitimate accomplishments

He’s not a wing at all. He’s a paint protecting center as we’ve seen in the playoffs
