The problem with innocent until proven guilty is that in practice you're letting off most perpetrators scot free. How can someone possibly prove something was not consensual? Recordings maybe, but that's only possible if they know it'll happen beforehand. There's no easy answer that doesn't lead to some very bad outcomes.

Tactical fouls have had a huge negative effect on the product on the field. This rule makes them worse to commit so hopefully it limits them.

Your caption says more about you than the watches do.

So it seems like a lot of teams leave a green border around the color in their endzone. So the goal line looks like grass - white stripe - grass - color. Is that required or a design decision?

True, but often people market and discuss them as if they are meant to be tools. A lot of people care a lot about specs and performance and certification in regards to precision, water resistance, etc

A lot of people wear speedmasters because the Apollo astronauts wore them. This is mostly in jest, but if people really wanted to emulate those Apollo astronaut icons, they would choose the most practical options which would be quartz watches, not mechanical watches. They'd be brighter, have better battery, keep better time, more durable, etc

But in seriousness, I totally respect the history and craftsmanship of these watches, just not their practicality in modern day.

100%. If you actually care about performance and specs, get a G shock. Mechanical watches are inherently impractical so there's no point in evaluating them on practicality.

two dive watches because one was METAS certified whilst the other was only COSC certified - literally for 99.999% of people this won't make a difference.

Exactly, and for the 0.0001% of people for whom it actually does matter, they'd be better off getting a G shock or something because it'll be more durable, keep better time, more readable in the dark, longer lasting battery, etc. No point in talking about practicality for something that's inherently impractical.

I'm not complaining, I just think it's a little silly to talk about the practicality of watches that are inherently inpractical. The labeling isn't what I'm talking about. It's about how some people talk about the watches. Liking submariners or speedmasters or something because one appreciates their beauty, craftsmanship, history, etc is one thing, but talking up their performance specs is another. Here's an example of what I'm talking about

The Longines Spirit Zulu Time is outfitted with the calibre L844.4 movement. It is chronometer certified for the highest level of accuracy and employs an anti-magnetic, silicon balance spring. Its “jumping hour” GMT hand can track a second time zone, and in conjunction with its bidirectional, 24-hour ceramic bezel, it can also track a third. The special beat rate of 3.5 Hz extends the power reserve to a full 72-hours. The watch comes with a screw down crown, 100m of water resistance, and is treated with Super-LumiNova for nighttime legibility

A G Shock will do every one of those functionalities singfiicantly better so it's just funny to me to have that be the sort of sales pitch.

Mechanical tool watches are an oxymoron. A G shock will outperform any 25k watch.

Wow, that's pretty insane. 0.2% chance for it to specifically happen this season with the Jags. Although if you look at the possibility for that to happen to any team ever, it's much higher.

It's common knowledge that FTs are by far the most valuable shot these days. They need to be somewhat overvalued to disincentivize fouling, but it's arguably gone too far.

League average 3pt percentage is about 0.35. League average FT percentage is about 0.78. So if someone gets fouled on a 3pt shot, their expected points goes from 1.05 pts to 2.34 pts, more than doubling.

What if instead, players had to shoot from the spot of the foul. So for a corner 3, you have to take 3 shots from the corner. It'd reflect shooting skill more because players would have to adjust to the different positions instead of just building muscle memory from a specific location. It also makes things a bit more balanced for big men who get fouled under the rim.

Techs, non shooting fouls in the bonus, etc would probably still be taken at the FT line.

The first is a volume stat and the second is a per shot stat. Maybe post shot xG per shot would be better instead of save %.

I really like the look of Bauhaus watches that are on the thinner side and have domed glass. Any other brands that have similar looks to the nomos metro or Sternglas naos?

Sure, but IWC still has more mainstream presence than say Nomos or Sinn. Some rich person not into watches might walk into a store and say "I want the top gun watch".
