I get where you’re coming from but this is not 100% correct. It’s very easy to do and barely an hours worth of work. Since these guys were charging for the “Deep Photoshopping” (whatever the fuck that is), you can ask for some of that money back. I would

Yes it’s shady as fuck and she is not a photographer, she’s a con artist.

Having said that, these fuckers prey on people like your girlfriend. Why didn’t she ask all of these questions before hiring? Why did you hand over a deposit, which I’m assuming was a lot and non refundable

Get a shitty camera

Make sure photo is slightly out of focus

Take photo against a background

Later in post decide you don’t like it and change it for an obvious fake gradient
