A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

I can't even imagine America with a president like Bernie Sanders. It would be... Good? I can't see it.
I would love some kind of TV show where an actually good president would run the country, but we won't see that will we... Too dangerous. Everyone must think that there is no better way.
2016 felt like a pivotal moment and we got stuck with the worst outcome. Sometimes I wonder how much different everything would have turned out if Bernie had gotten the nomination and went on to become president.
Fucking Brexit. I think democracy was defeated by non-military means several times in that era. I don't think it "just happened".
I feel like 2024 was such a pivotal year. Economy going well inflation getting under control, interest rates falling. We were finally investing a little in our infrastructure, our future. Progress toward getting college costs under controlEV sales and renewable energy were gangbusters, record amounts of public land protected from drilling. The 2035 goal for many states to phase out new combustion vehicles looked achievable. Federal state and local incentives were helping more homeowners switch away from fossil fuels, to even free solar for low income. More locally we had passed a millionaires tax going toward transit improvements and free school lunch. Some amount of free public university….. it was a great time to be alive!
We had made so much progress that 2024 was the first time in my life I thought America was ready for a progressive
I was so very very wrong
West Wing was a decent series. Portrayed an administration of people who weren't perfect, but tried to do the right things.
They had us watch the Filibuster episode in school, and boy did that whitewash such a horrendous loophole in our system.
Aren't they ALL exceptionally awesome until they get elected and nothing ever changes then?

He's one of the furthest left politicians in the history of the country and has been consistent with it since the 60s.
If you've heard of him, it was him getting sidelined in 2016 so the Democrats could run Hilary Clinton. If you haven't heard of him, it's because that sidelining extends to his entire career.
I wouldn't vote for him now due to his age but he would have been a powerhouse if he won.
I read often of him, and it always sounded like a very solid idea. But probably too good for the common peasant and hence sidelined. The orange clown seems kinda like the absolute opposite. So OK I guess I can retract my bitter statement. There might be good guys left, they just never make it. Oh wait, that's also bitter....
I mean there’s a lot of truth to that. I was always skeptical that Bernie could work well with others enough to be productive, since he’s spent so much of his long career standing against every politician
Then the weird part is there was a surprisingly large overlap of people who supported both Bernie and the orange clown. So strange when you’re thinking opposite gaols, but perhaps it’s just that both were outside the establishment
I find it more weird that the vast majority of the USA is probably piss-poor to normal poor, yet even those seem to think that a billionaire will care for them and better their lifes. And then wear maga-hats. Or do people with 6-figures think they're not poor? But I so would wish you guys that next election he might get a rerun, considering how the clown drove the USA into the gutter. I mean if that gestures broadly at everything didn't help to vote differently, then what would....
I don’t get it either. Maybe people closer to median income think six figures is well off but it’s really not anymore. None of the people i know with six figure income think they’re well off, especially not in an expensive state like Massachusetts.
As a society we do a poor job of providing for our people, so there’s always another fee or subscription or tax. There’s always another person looking for a tip or to extract a profit from your needs
We had decades of headlines about the orange clown being someone you wouldn’t trust to make money from a casino, honor a contract, or pay the taxes he owed . He was always a grifter and narcissist, always considered himself above laws and regulations . Maybe all those years of negative headlines never went as nationwide as I thought but anyone in ny, nj, New England area knew what he was and have no excuse
Mustn't even be an expensive state. The fact alone that healthcare is bound to having a job, paints a horrible misery just 2 bad lucks with Bad timing away...
Especially considering that people tend to up their lifestyle with every additionally earned buck. If you dont save 90% of your 250k net a year, you're still just poor
Guess that's a global capitalism-thing, not just us-american. It's the same here. We pay the worst for the most important jobs (nurses etc) and then wonder why noone wants to work there anymore. But ceo-pays rise massively like everywhere else...disgusting.
I only marginally got news about him before he went gaga as potus. But I'm no murican, so that is obvious. Maybe people just forgot? Or didn't care, or did knew and cared but were evil. Or just dumb. I imagine the clown drove a big campaign-circus being "the change the USA needs". At least he delivered. He made the USA great again. Just not for the poor but the very rich. Who would've thought a billionaire would do such a thing, I'm flabbergasted.
