/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

This is just like letting engineers design things. It's functional but the aesthetics are an afterthought.

I always thought Klingon hair was more 80s

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago (3 children)

Klingon crews are each 80s prog rock bands.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago

Canonically they’re Kpop boy bands.

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

I was thinking 80s hair metal

[–] Silentiea@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 months ago

It's pronounced "classical music"

It is timeless. Like lime green kitchens.

I can hear this image ... nicely done .. as a kid who barely saw the start of the 80s (which looked like the 70s to poor people like my family who were behind the times) ... I saw plenty of adults that looked like this

And as an indigenous person who saw a transition of people who lived on the land like they did thousands of years ago to modern day life ... I even did get to see a couple of people that looked like Gowron

I didn't look at the community first so that caught me off guard.

I missed it entirely

Damn half of these guys look like serial killers

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 9 points 5 months ago

Separate rock band members from rock band managers.

Is that Weird Al 2nd on 3rd row?

[–] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 9 points 5 months ago

You haven't heard "Another one rides the bus" until you've heard it in the original Klingon.

[–] Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca 8 points 5 months ago

I've only been awake for ten minutes, but even then.. I looked at this for a good while. I went through every row. I didn't notice it until you brought me back to it.

Yes, I'll have a #3: The Turbo-Spock.

[–] sirico@feddit.uk 4 points 5 months ago

Number 3 "have you ever listened to Paul Weller?"

[–] verity_kindle@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Riker prototype, top right

Nr. 8 is a young Thulsa Doom.

[–] Jyrdano@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

There is definitely a JoJo character based on Nr.3.
