I'm still kinda pissed about the sack his ass got taken from Josh Allen when Josh Allen lowered his own head.

That should be a flag on the offense.

The cam Newton effect. He’s so damn big that you can’t bitch tackle him like a lot of other qbs. You gotta hit him. Refs need to figure out a way to balance that out

[–] fancyskank@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Except Josh Allen gets double calls Newton got

J. Allen 0.174 per sack

C. Newton 0.098 per sack

[–] VikingforLifes@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah but that was partially Newton’s fault if you remember. When Newton said “hit me” or whatever talking about when he was running down field, I didn’t mind the refs letting defenses tee off on him a bit when he was a rusher. When they let defenses tee off on him in the pocket, I thought that was too much. But also…. Don’t say in an interview, essentially, “come hit me bitch” haha

Nothin gets Romo more bricked up than seeing Josh flopping all over the field 😂

[–] Eglend@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Considering Romo is bottom 5 on this list per att and per sack (expanding to all QBs), I can see why

[–] Sezy__@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

There’s a load of stats on that page to find a correlation on but people in sports like to get emotional instead. It’s either the refs are biased towards certain players, acting, etc. But sports fans aren’t the brightest so it makes sense.

[–] Schwebels_Solette@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Now, I'm willing to admit, Josh does have some flops(egregious ones too), but is it possible that because he is such a huge running threat on top of being so big that you need to be a bit more rough to get him down, resulting in more calls?

[–] LamarMVPJackson@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Damn didn’t realize how much flopping he does

[–] DollarDollar@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

My biggest fear with Allen, and his flag fishing is that these defenders are going to be so worried about an undeserved RTP flag that they may as well nail him and take their chances with a deserved RTP depending on game scenario

[–] kiloclass@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (3 children)

He does this thing where he runs on the sideline and slows up to make it look like he’s going out of bounds. This makes the defender slow up and then he’ll speed back up to gain extra yards.

It’s gaming the system and I can’t totally fault him but it’s kind of gross. As a defender, you’re screwed. If you commit to the tackle, he just has to run out of bounds to draw a super soft personal foul for being hit out of bounds.

This is also why most of his running highlights are on the sideline. Defenders can’t tackle 100% and Allen knows this.

It’s just frustrating that he only gets credited for his athleticism and not his cheap exploitation of the rules designed to keep QBs safe.

[–] steezyg@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He doesn't do that at all. He flops but he doesn't do what you're describing.

[–] piraino310@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

LMAO, make sure you're stretching with all that reaching

[–] rplinux@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Are you thinking of Mahomes? I don't think Allen does this he's more of a flopper.

[–] Seravie@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

This is Mahomes.

[–] BradyReas@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Meanwhile hurts has 4 career rtp penalties and one of them was just last week where he flopped like Allen does lol. Maybe he’s learning

[–] jayywal@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Lol he didn't flop. He was balanced on one foot from the passing motion and got shoved by a 300 lb mfer. You'd fall too.

Whether it should have been called RTP is another thing though the contact obviously did come late

[–] Zestyclose_Main6335@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

And Mahomes gets pass interference called every time he throws a pick. Mahomes cries for flags all the fucking time too and most of the time they give it to him on pi. See we both can do it. Mahomes is kinda whiney bitch too

[–] CaliforniaHurricane_@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I don’t mind the flopping by Josh Allen, great strategy in building a strong team culture. They’re just going to end up losing in the divisional to the Chiefs or Bengals

[–] levitikush@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Flopping has no place in the NFL and should be punishable by 15 yards and a fine.

[–] soulopryde@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

they'd be 0-6 without them

[–] notPatrickClaybon@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Of course a chiefs fan posts this lol

[–] DynastyZealot@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Seriously! I thought it was our turn!

[–] rplinux@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

QBs that get sacked less often are going to have less calls. If we really want to know who gets RTP calls at the highest rate we probably want to look at the per sack stats. Top 10 among starters:

  1. Allen
  2. Goff
  3. Mahomes
  4. Garoppolo
  5. Tagovailoa
  6. Cousins
  7. Herbert
  8. Tannehill
  9. Mayfield
  10. Prescott
[–] jayywal@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah under no circumstances should Mahomes get a pass for being a huge baby as well.

[–] Snackoff@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Mahomes is top 5 in the league in scrambles and top 3 in attempts basically every single season, he’s gotten 2 RTP calls since the start of last season.

Per sack is a moronic measure because it penalizes QBs who avoid sacks. Just look at the number of RTP calls relative to number of pass attempts.

This is just cope.

[–] Fethah@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I mean just go look at the jags game when Josh Allen hit him, it was a nothing burger and they called RTP

[–] Earptastic@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I love Josh but when he flops it is a bitch move.

[–] Obama_and_yo_Mama@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Because he's always flopping around like a fucking soccer player

[–] Corn_On_Macabre_@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

All he does is bitch and whine to the refs, he’s bound to get some calls eventually.

[–] Yeah_l_Dont_Know@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He baits penalties and if there isn’t a penalty he just flops. This is nitbsurprising

[–] Old-Passenger-3042@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Now do Zach wilson

[–] qp0n@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Interesting that Hurts has only gotten 4 calls in 43 games, the only one with a lower rate per-game is Taysom Hill who probably shouldnt even qualify as a QB.

[–] GoodGodSham@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He'd be great at soccer

[–] TaxHedgehog@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah every time he was touched last night he was begging a ref for a flag

[–] starcraftre@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He needs to stop flopping. He hasn't taken Tua's "how to fall" training, and it's going to come back to bite him at some point.

[–] BipedalWurm@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago
[–] Rock_Flaccid@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

These stats are wild because I really feel like Kirk Cousins doesn't draw a lot of rtp calls. Obviously that's not accurate, maybe I feel that way since he seems to get crushed all the time.

[–] mbrancato157@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Quick, Allen had a great game break out the same exact thread as the other 4 the past month

[–] rutherford_behave@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

This same exact thread was posted four days ago. We get it

[–] JohnWickisBehindU@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Some people don't spend all their time on reddit

[–] Joker_548@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I can't believe the league is protecting their star player Trevor Siemian. Jokes aside yeah they want their stars to stay on the field so if you're not a fan of a team with an all star qb that RTP better make their head shoot backwards

[–] red_foot_blue_foot@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Josh Allen is a huge flopper. NFL needs to stop this bullshit before the game is ruined like basketball

[–] Kingofallcommenters@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I support this message.

[–] mAAd_kid_good_city@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Lol I see nobody is calling Trevor Siemian a pathetic flopper

[–] TigerWoodsLibido@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Isn't there some insane stat that the Jets haven't had a RTP called in their favor since early 2021 season?

[–] violentbandana@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Big guy who refuses to go down almost to a fault, probably leads to more calls. I don’t think it’s much deeper than that. Yeah he whines to the refs and/or flops and you can definitely criticize that but how many extra calls do people really think that gets him? The refs know his antics by this point, if anything you would think they would be more reluctant to flag him

Maybe the refs fully pick up on this and he starts getting lit up with no calls. I really don’t care much either way lol

[–] LinkEconomy6295@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

According to that data he gets the most. 4 this year and nobody else has 3.

I get that its legal but it’s a bitch move.
