Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

There it is. In the war of narcissist v narcissist, we knew he’d say this.

Edit: Have a nice day DJT!

What a couple of douche canoes.

What would haven been even funnier for Musk to say is "Without me, Trump would have lost, again."

Sounds election interferry

[–] iglou@programming.dev 28 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

Election interference? Nah, it's endorsement

Corruption? Nah, it's lobbyism

As a French, I'll never understand how this shit is legal in the USA. We've sued presidents for much less than that.

[–] joel_feila@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

We had a chance to stop it a century ago. At this only a revolution can save us

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s alliance took off like one of SpaceX’s rockets. It was supercharged and soared high. And then it blew up.

AP news is hiring comedians it seems

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

One of the major outlets headline is "The two worst people in the world are finally having a big, beautiful breakup"

Donnie, that's what happens when you don't say thank you.

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 1 day ago

or don't wear a suit.

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 112 points 2 days ago (2 children)

When the World's Richest Man who spent a QUARTER OF A BILLION DOLLARS on ONE Candidate says "without me he would have lost", what does that mean?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 104 points 2 days ago (2 children)

"I bought him fair and square, but now he's defective. Can I get a refund?"

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 27 points 2 days ago

Also, we're not in a democracy anymore.

I will never forgive or forget Musk becoming a Nazi but God damn is this fight between these two going to be entertaining as fuck. Musk has to have dirt on him.

I'm not rooting for either side I hope both sides destroy each other but damn I got to say I'm sort of a teensy bit on musk's side right now. Just because my hatred for Trump is greater and if there's going to be someone that brings him down it's going to be Musk

[–] Regrettable_incident@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I fondly remember celebrity deathmatch. I'm not cheering either of them, I just wanna see the blood.

[–] joel_feila@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I'll allow it

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 77 points 2 days ago (12 children)

Is he implying he manipulated the election? Or does it just sound like it?

[–] Coskii@lemmy.blahaj.zone 72 points 2 days ago (3 children)

For once in my life, I want musk to say more.

Trump outright said he had bribed politicians during his 2016 campaign. It doesn't fucking matter.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago

Not implying, admitting. Here's the data.

First and last links are the data. The middle links are for us stupid people that need to be told how to read the data in the last link.

I've been waiting for this shit for months lol.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

We always knew it was coming. All I have to say, to neither one in particular, is: Are you going to let him say that about you? You should blast him, don't hold back.

[–] asg101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 27 points 1 day ago (1 children)

As wealth becomes concentrated in fewer and fewer hands, we know the oligarchs will soon be fighting over the last of the scraps.

Unfortunately, we are those scraps.

[–] CaptSneeze@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Eventually, wealth will consolidate to three oligarchs, and we’ll all live in either The Citadel, Gas Town, or The Bullet Farm. Witness me.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 65 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's a bitter feeling that the best defense the US has against a fascist takeover is the incompetence and narcissism of the ones doing the taking over.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 41 points 2 days ago

Hitler's cabinet was full of these kinds of people too, and he still managed to do a lot of damage. It's not much of a protection.

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 48 points 2 days ago (1 children)

...which makes you an enemy of the US, you piece of shit.

[–] lagoon8622@sh.itjust.works 18 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Deport his ass. Nationalize his assets and handcuff him to the first thing smoking to Joburg

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

nazis don't deserve deportation, unless the handcuffs are outside the plane.

Let's hope they do a mutually assured destruction of each other.

The egos are big enough.

[–] mriguy@lemmy.world 34 points 2 days ago

Somebody has to dare him to prove it, and maybe he'll show how he rigged the voting counts in the swing states.
