Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

A fuming President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening attacked a court ruling in Utah that found the State Legislature's congressional redistricting maps were unconstitutional.

Trump said every citizen of Utah should be "outraged at their activist Judiciary,"

Yeah! How dare those judges enforce the 2018 ballot initiative passed by voters to create an independent redistricting commission to prevent just exactly this kind of gerrymandering! The voters should be outraged that the courts wont let the GOP stomp all over them. Don't they know that the Gadsden flag only refers to conservatives being trodden upon? Sheesh!

I won't shed a tear, but Vance won't be better.

[–] cmoney@lemmy.world 37 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Vance doesn't have whatever it is maga sees in tRump, once he is gone he will most likely take the maga bowel movement with him, at least that's what I've been telling myself.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 23 points 4 months ago

I don’t even try to understand or predict what these lunatics will do anymore…

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 11 points 4 months ago

The only concern I have about the Vance scenario is that he is given the chance to "lead" if Trump dies and that allows previously disgusted Republicans to see a "normal" Republican leader back and so they actually end up gaining supporters as opposed to having Vance try to convince people to give him a shot without having already been president.

MAGAs will NEVER leave the GOP, but there were a lot of people who were disgusted with Trump that just stopped voting or held their nose and voted D. I don't for one second think the Lincoln project people would keep voting D if Trump wasn't in the picture.

I'm a pessimistic person to begin with, but I really do only see things getting worse from here on out. The Democrats are hell bent on not selling us on the things we need, they just stick to safe "cheap" social justice issues that don't resonate with enough people to carry them through elections on their own.

As much as Maga is a bowel movement, it is not a grassroots movement, and the regime is more than one person.

But its cult of personality is.

Vance is a wet blanket and is significantly less threatning than mango mussolini. He already plays second chair to 47, and they have no obvious plans for his successor. I intend to follow the in-fighting with glee and watch my stock in Orvile Redenbacher do well.

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 9 points 4 months ago

vance isn't beloved by the cult in the same way

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 5 points 4 months ago

Couchfucker was selected specifically because he poses no threat to the Chomo-In-Charge. He's got the charisma of a used diaper. He can't hold the MAGA cult together.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 4 points 4 months ago

one step closer all the same.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

I don't see any of the mouth-breathers buying up a bunch of worthless trash with his visage and his name on it, even if Taco dying were to leave a vacuum...

Not to say he and the rest of the cons would not do a lot of damage and also make an attempt to seize power.

After all, ending American democracy and fundamentally changing America is the conservative project.

[–] VivianRixia@piefed.social 8 points 4 months ago

Yes, raise your heart rate more. Fume harder! Did you hear that Iowa lost a seat, losing the Rep supermajority? Doesn't that also make you angry?

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 41 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Can websites please update their pictures of Trump. I'm sick of looking at pictures of him from 10 years ago, as if they would do that for any other person. Dude looks like this

[–] tomkatt@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago

Updated pic.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

They should use that one where he is standing near his breakfast buffet table...

[–] Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca 23 points 4 months ago

That makes me sad... that his blood pressure hasn't popped another vein yet.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

Oh no how unfortunate.
