Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

How is it such a petty and immature person is deemed fit for presidential office I may never understand.

How is it such a petty and immature person is deemed fit for presidential office I may never understand.

77 million petty, immature voters who put selfishness and hatred ahead of country.

Not to mention the whole rigging the election thing he openly bragged about.

Half the USA doesn't seem to mind.

Worse, a whole lot of those are actively helping the Drooling Diaper Dude. Including the big seven tech companies.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 days ago

It's unfair that most of us have to behave professionally at work when the president doesn't

Trump openly uses the autopen, you can't get this dumb can you? Oh yes, of course you can.

Blatant hypocrisy is a feature. It helps sort the sycophants from the future concentration camp residents.

[–] 0li0li@lemmy.world 27 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I can't get over his current Sith Lord portrait. The fuck guys, he looks like a movie villan...

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 17 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I thought it was his mugshot, it's basically the same.

For once it's actually a little funny even if petulant.

[–] Hux@lemmy.ml 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I don’t agree with it, but it is a surprisingly clever dig for this group…

[–] Gaja0@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

The thing is that he has always joked like this. His fans eat it up. He's popular for a reason.

[–] spongebue@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I miss having a president with some class in the White House. The autopen theory is fucking stupid. I strongly disagree with pretty much everything that Trump says about Biden, or at least the extent he takes it.

But damn if I didn't chortle a little when I heard about this.

For once? Trump's entire political career is based on belittling and exposing the previous system as a sham. He has always been bombastic, crude and--clever in subtle ways. He appeals to a very specific slice of america. No not just white. No not just rich. No not just male. But a surprisingly diverse group that hates the status quo. Hates the decorum of the old ways.

The mentality is embodied in any social media post like this one. The performative pearl clutching, faux-outrage with how vulgar trump is. The refusal to examine why Trump appeals to millions of people, and the ever present moral judgement about America as a whole.

Trump is a result of America's politics. A mirror of society. He is or at least was, a master showman and clown but not as a pejorative. After all that is how he got elected.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

Captain Butthurt is just still so sad about losing in 2020...

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 days ago

Trump's mugshot belongs in the presidential portrait gallery

[–] lemmylommy@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Cool. Now release the Epstein files. All of them.

[–] Capricorn_Geriatric@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

And he put his own mugshot, didn't he?

[–] PowerCrazy@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 days ago

It's the same "look" as the mugshot, but I don't think it is actually his mugshot.

[–] kungfuratte@feddit.org 5 points 4 days ago

Are US Dollar bills valid when the Secretary of the Treasury didn't sign them by hand and the signature is only printed by machine?

[–] Geobloke@aussie.zone 4 points 4 days ago
[–] Hegar@fedia.io 4 points 4 days ago

Pointless distraction

[–] ClassStruggle@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 days ago

Fucking petulant child

[–] kalapala@sopuli.xyz 2 points 4 days ago

So he couldn't look success in the eye.
