ADL actually have a list of symbols of hate, Anti-Antifa is one of them. So irony.

That is exactly what politics is: the least bad worst thing. It always has been and always will be.
The problem is that the only way I can see to set up a system that will give the pick of the lesser vs greater good is to set up a system in which anyone who desires power has absolutely no channels to access said power. Basically you can only be president if you don't want to be president. This would cause all sorts of other issues such as rapid chains of abdication.

It was always going to be an opportunistic slime ball. We were never going to go immediately from Trump directly to a Democratic Socialist. Anybody who thinks that possible is delusional.
