Surprised no one has said it but Kyrie. Maybe the Cavs but definitely not any of the other teams.

Idk but I do know that Westbrook is getting his retired within hours of his retirement.
Durant?
Lamarcus Aldridge.
And yes he's very likely to make the HOF with his stats, credentials.
A lot of potential HOFers won't get their jersey retired when you realize there's way more to making it to the HOF outside of being a team lead and winning a ring.
I don't see Horford getting his jersey retired here in Boston, but he'll be in the Hall of Fame for his college career alone. Then you add on his longevity and a possible ring with Boston (hopefully this year) and it's hard not to see him get in on one of the ballots.
Kevin Durant? With how he left the Thunder and Warriors, then not accomplishing anything on the Nets or Suns (yet), I think he is the best player that could fall into this category. Him or Harden.
damian lillard
No.
And we can stop pretending like every player is switching teams every year?
I know LeBron was the first player to ever switch teams, but he's going to get his jersey retired by THREE teams.

Ray Allen.
Harden feels like a potential candidate.
I miss life before November 19, 2023.
Chris Paul
Im thinking Dwight Howard. Clearly HoF worthy, but the magic don't retire jersey numbers unless the player leads them to a ring, and he didn't contribute enough to his other teams to be in consideration.
AD. He's gonna be a hot but I'm not sure either the lakers or new Orleans will retire his jersey
Jordan Poole
Vince Carter. I’d say it’s 50/50 whether or not the Raptors ever retire 15.
Kawhi is an interesting one.
Had good numbers for the Spurs but not great and didn’t have the long stay there to make up for good but not great numbers.
Raptors was one year.
Clippers, he’s missed about 30 games a year on average.
Tbf that one year he beat the big 3 Heat he actually was great
No way we we’re retiring that bums number.
Kawhi is pretty handily the most hated athlete in Spurs history. As much as his accolades say he deserves it, I think the lack of any goodwill for him in the city will prevent his jersey from ever hanging in the rafters in SA.
I doubt the Lakers retire ADs unless they win another ring or he carries the franchise post LeBron. Pels definitely aren't retiring it.
Boban
Who’s going to retire Carmelo’s number I wonder.
Nuggets already gave his number to Jokic.
With Knicks, he went past the 1st round 1 time in 7 years.
He wasn’t on other teams for any significant amount of time.
I was thinking KD but apparently he's obviously getting his jersey retired in Golden State. Didn't feel obvious to me...
Derrick Rose
AB
Not sure if Kemba makes it into the Hall of Fame but...yeah.
Depending on how many more kicked balls, German suplexes and sleeper chokeholds, Draymond Green seems like a public nightmare to acknowledge.
Chris Paul. The Clippers would be his best bet but what did they ever achieve there?
Chris Paul? Are we sure he’s getting his number retired by theeee Clippers? Hornets/Pels??
Al Horford. He's on the fence for HOF because he doesn't have a ring, but his longevity and college career may secure it (if he wins a ring with Boston, he likely makes it in). He kind of trashed the Hawks organization on his way out and disrespected the fans; he definitely hasn't done enough with Boston to warrant a jersey retirement.
It's the basketball hall of fame not the NBA hall of fame so it's not such a great bar.
Christian Laettner is in for his time on the dream team. You don't have to be an NBA star to get in. Maybe some foreign guy that goes to college in America and wins ncaa titles then goes back to Europe. Or maybe someone from Argentina that won international titles.
Watched a clippers broadcast the other week and they said they had 4 first ballot HOF. PG, Harden, Russ, Kawhi. Russ probably gets OKC, I can see Pop and the Spurs retiring Kawhi. Harden might get Houston, no idea about PG tho
Joe Johnson. 7x All Star and 20k points is probably going to make it. Don’t see the Hawks retiring his.
Many players. Jersey retirement should be left for the greatest players. Most HOF players dont deserve number retirement.
Kyrie.
James Harden
Do you guys think the Lakers will retire Lebron’s number? I know Miami and Cleveland will.
Harden, Westbrook, possibly CP3
James Harden maybe? Was a role player in OKC, didn’t get a ring in Houston, and has had a sour exit with every team since?
Carmelo Anthony
Dwight Howard..I doubt the magic retire his number given the circumstances of the split.
Embiid.
It might seem crazy, but the Sixers have only retired one non championship player in Allen Iverson. Embiid isn’t beloved anywhere near close to Iverson.
The next one is Kevin Love. I don’t see Cleveland or Minnesota retiring his number.
Lastly, I don’t know if Harden gets his jersey retired by Houston. Yao Ming did, but that was more because of China money and wanting to maintain a relationship with China at the time. Yao was similar to Mutumbo in being bigger than the game on the world scale. Also, I don’t think the NBA wanted to irritate China since they’re a large part of their business. Harden is pretty divisive whether Rockets fans want to admit it or not. He’s not a Rocket lifer like Murphy or Rudy T.
Derek Fisher ?
Chris Paul.
Harden, HOF worthy career, but left everyone hanging
Chris Paul?
James Harden will be an interesting one if he doesn’t win a ring with the Clippers
