Tesla strike in Sweden now involves Denmark, may spread to Norway and Finland — “Just like companies, the trade union movement is global in the fight to protect workers,” says chair of Danish union::Tesla is locked in a titanic struggle with Sweden's largest labor union. The result could have repercussions around the world.

Elon musk behaves like a narcissist, so he could threaten to withdraw Tesla from all 4 Nordic countries, just because he is butthurt.
If that should happen, I'm personally OK with that too. We don't want foreign companies that threaten our right to unionize.

There are plenty of other EV options now too so no need for Tesla if they don't want to be fair to their workers.

Thousands of Teslas may become unrepairable e-waste though.

*EU RtR intensifies*

Wait, what if Tesla is completely pushed out of EU?

And nothing of value is lost. Good riddance.

There's no reason yet to leave all 4. All they need to do is leave Sweden and this ends.

I'm not sure what the situation is like in the other countries in terms of CBAs, but they haven't gone on strike internally for lack of agreement. It's only sympathy strikes elsewhere right now.

How bad did Tesla fuck this up? Enough for us noggies to join the side of swedes AND danes. I hope to see the finns join in too.

Elon fucked up so bad he's gonna singlehandedly revive the international worker movement.

Thank you, comrade Elon!

This is what democracy looks like.

Very important that Norway gets in on this as well since they were very early and massive adopters of Tesla cars. That one will really chap Elon's ass.

Shit, I’m a center leaning libtard and I want the unions to succeed. Nothing would please me than seeing Musk brought to heel by workers everywhere.

[–] TheTimeKnife@lemmy.world 20 points 11 months ago

God damn am I jealous of Scandinavian unions.

[–] uis@lemmy.world 19 points 11 months ago

I may not live in Sweden or Denmark, but I am happy people improving their and each other's lives instead of screwing over each other. Faust bless you.

I'd love to see it the Americans follow up once Tesla has unionised in Europe.

I'd also love to see what Tesla would've done without a stubborn idiot as CEO. Maybe it's time for the shareholders to take another look at the supermajority voting that Musk is abusing to run the company down.

Elon Musk has one word for unions — “No!” He told the New York Times last week, “I disagree with the idea of unions. I just don’t like anything which creates kind of a lords and peasants sort of thing. I think the unions naturally try to create negativity in a company.”

I just... I really don't know how to even respond to that... Beyond laughing at how ridiculous that statement is...
