Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Ain't that a fucking shame. The bastard has the best SOCIALIZED health care while the rest of the USA is in the shitter.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I have despised this guy for decades, what a nasty piece of work.

GO TOWARDS THE LIGHT MITCH

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

The light from the hell fires?

The painting keeping this guy alive must be on another level of decrepit.

"The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs, trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping."

Damn right, I'm not helping.

[–] Pollo_Jack@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

A doctor or nurse could become a hero any second now. Think of the future research departments they could save.

“I have never wished anyone dead, but I have read some obituaries with great relish.”

[–] Biffsbraincell@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I wish him dead. Not just because fuck him, there is that. But the world would just be a better place.

[–] rekabis@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 days ago

Conservatism in general is a great evil, he is just one of its most visible practitioners.

Virtually all CEOs and a good 20% of America would fit into the same category of irredeemable evil.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I wish the last thing he experiences is being treated by a lesbian minority doctor who tells him night night.

[–] Hoticeberg@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Hope this pos burns in hell.

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 198 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Dick Cheney lived 10 years without a heart. I am not celebrating just yet.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 74 points 4 days ago

Dick was around for more than 10yrs.

Why is he still clinging to the vestiges of his power and not resting at home? These people are fucking pathological.

“He is in regular contact with his staff and looks forward to returning to Senate business.”

Just fucking retire, you despicable old cunt.

McConnell, the Senate’s third-oldest member,

WHAT?!? There's 2 senators older than him.

He plans to retire from Congress when his current term concludes in January 2027.

He wont live that long

My theory is somewhere deep inside himself he knows that once he loses access to his power and position, and the obsequious self-assurance it provides, all that's left will be to confront the abject moral abyss that is his soul. So he's just trying to die ignorant and shameless in office.

Praying for his speedy return to hell 🙏🏼

[–] Binturong@lemmy.ca 26 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

This vile ghoul ushered in the death of America by breaking key covenants in governance, and while he's vaguely expressed some sort of remorse since over the years, there will be no forgiveness or peace for him on his deathbed. He will only be hailed by a cabal of grinning sycophants encircling his frail shell, chanting "you made this all possible" as they lean in to devour his rotting carcass. Thanks for nothing, Mitch.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The death of America precedes him by a generation or three in my opinion, but he nailed the coffin shut!

A functioning Democracy/Republic would never allow this creature to stay in office since 1985, over 40 years of this nasty piece of work

[–] boaratio@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago

Fuck this guy. Fuck everything he's ever done. I hope he rests in piss. Representative of one of the most impoverished states in America, married to a billionaire, shit his pants before Trump made it cool.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 19 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I'd like to remind everyone here that, while he was laying the groundwork for the current political climate of the U.S., he had 3 daughters and two wives. He's old enough that the upper part of his left leg is paralyzed due to polio.

We are seeing a resurgence of measles, thanks to men like this — who got to live full lives while fucking us all over. Who knows, maybe we'll see one for polio!

Cheer for his death if you must, he has already won.

Didn't that guy go on to play Doc Ock in the later, Spider-Man movies?

To those putting on their dancing shoes... there's no point. He already did all the damage. Short of going back in time nothing will fix what he's done. Unfortunately.

[–] TipRing@lemmy.world 65 points 4 days ago (3 children)

His death doesn't reverse things, but the world will still be a better place without his presence.

83? I'd have sworn it's been 803 years of misery and suffering due to him.

[–] vladmech@lemmy.world 55 points 4 days ago

Oh man. Is one of my reserve bottles getting popped soon?

[–] OldQWERTYbastard@lemmy.world 31 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Suffer, you degenerate piece of shit.

Feel every second of pain and agony that you deserve.

Also, I'll leave this here.

I hope it hurts when he dies

[–] lennybird@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

All these pieces of shit live so long because they're afraid of atoning for their piles of crimes and lies and deceit. Rest in piss to the likes of Rumsfeld, Cheney and everyone else responsible for exploiting the ignorant to drag this country down.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 47 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet. Some turtles can easily live for over a hundred years.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

Like this one, for instance...

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 37 points 4 days ago (10 children)

It's a shame he'll age out before the guillotines could get built.

[–] madcaesar@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This motherfucker ushered in Trump and his fascist regime. May he rest in piss.
