The real TIL is always in the comments.
Cool video, though it doesn't look like the older pic used that technique. The lace paths don't match up.
Look at those nails. Makes sense they used those sandals to walk indoors
More boring and nich practical than you'd expect.
So lumberjack boots have steel spikes on the bottom for climbing and doing lumberjack things.
These "sandals" were essentially just spike covers so they could get lunch without having to take their boots off or mess up the floors.
