OP when the US starts bombing his country

[–] OldSageRick@lemmy.zip 15 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I am pretty sure if US starts bombing their country, OP could do shit about it on here.

If it would be announced beforehand lemmy would not be the only thing talking about it so OP would get the message, if it would be announced then all the retroactive posts would not help them.

if you won't block the non-kinetic USAn attack with a few clicks, you're hardly gonna stop a kinetic campaign

[–] Shamber@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

You can't just drop this on us and brag, share the knowledge my friend

[–] M137@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago

"God bless"

You're still a brainwashed idiot.

Why the fuck is bottom cencored?

[–] Evotech@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

It’s called satire I believe

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Because it's funny?

[–] jdr@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

Because it's dirty

[–] lourencovp@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Hmm.. That does sound like very peaceful browsing…

But you could argue that you are just like those people on a Fox News diet? It seems to me, to be pretty bad to only receive news from a single camp?

I know I know, that stuff barely passes as news nowadays, but aren’t we just creating deeper rifts and diferent realities even more?

Just a thought

[–] myotheraccount@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know what you mean.. Fox News is a pretty wholesome Lemmy community

[–] lourencovp@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ha! Please feel free to drop the link to this wholesome community you mentioned. Thanks…

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

If I was reading news only from one source, I wouldn't be here now.

Just a second thought.

[–] lourencovp@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah you are right, Bad analogy perhaps, but the idea of blocking communication from a political camp/ideology whether you agree or disagree seems to be the main issue in the US no? Isn’t it true both camps (Dems and Rep) have their constituents completely on different news diets? Thus they yell at each other because they live in totally different realities? And so no real conversation can be had? Just seems the blocking of information is the root of the problem…

Alas I’m not from the us, so not sure why I care lol.

But yeah, I’m tempted to block a few thing tbh.

[–] Aneb@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Unfortunately American "Freedom" is for both parties to hold unhinged believes about the other. "You're entitled to your wrong opinion" mindset over here. One group understands the fetus is clump of cells, the other believe it's a miracle; when both views can be right but one party is trying to disenfranchise and contort the law to force women into giving birth against their will. Enough big issues pile up that you, your friends and your family can't even discuss world geo/politics without an underhanded comment that people deserve what they sow. One party thinks the other is a bunch of freeloaders and the other party claim landlords are freeloaders.

Works well for Lemmy (Boost app is great for blocking keywords). It has been really good for me to do this in my news RSS app as well. It has been great to break away from the endless cycle of Trump sating shit to get everyone agitated and then chickening out. It's a much more peaceful life.

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 29 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (4 children)

Couple communities and 2 keywords did the job. I won't get posts about a staged shooting.

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

ICE is a silly keyword to block. You'd miss the best ice recipes and suggestions 😁

[–] timestatic@feddit.org 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Or discourse on German ever-late high speed trains

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

oh lol, how could i forget that. as a german :-)

[–] Snowcano@startrek.website 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah I’ve been thinking about trying this lately. Thanks for the list, much appreciated!

[–] pimat@feddit.org 1 points 2 days ago

Thank you so much.

If you now also block god, you're totally free of them 😁

[–] Zomg@piefed.world 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

Mind sharing your keywords? I try to keep my political posts to a minimum but I'm sure it could be improved with additional words

Edit: NVM I see you posted Screenshots

Fwiw, here's mine:

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago

Great one thanks. So far is working fine, I get some, but not like before. Still fine.

[–] phonics@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I still get trumps face popping up in memes that don't mention his name 😒. Any tips?

[–] Evotech@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Some trump is fine I think. Just need to make sure 90% of content isn’t

[–] superduperpirate@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I use Voyager.

When I see people posting stuff I don’t want to see but can’t otherwise easily filter (based off link domain or keyword in post title or community name), I will downvote. Once I see a user account with enough net downvotes, that’s a cue for me to consider blocking them.

This works sorta well for me, but someone else’s experience may vary.

[–] maltasoron@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago

Anytime I see someone posting political stuff in non-political communities, I check their post history. Almost without fail they're only posting political content, so I'll block them. If I want politics, I'll read the newspaper.

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Nothing you can do about that I think.

You have uttered the forbidden word though

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

the only wolrds i blocked is politics, too much pro-zionism there. every other one i just ignore.

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How will you know when you're being bombed?

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Well, as long as you have a plan.

[–] Generica@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago

But what about Jesus?! Jesus

[–] lustrate@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

whispers Floridaman…

[–] Naz@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

Sounds like you need some DEMOCRACY

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Hoo rah!

(/S)

[–] tryagain@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

You might want to add "Naruto run" to that list. Trust me, you'll thank me later

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

tbh it's tough because even worldnews is infected, a ton of posts are essentially Trump/USA says/does/mentions/invades

So somehow even in a forum dedicated to not being about America they are still mentioned

[–] FelixCress@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago
