Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I find it funny that, for better or worse, history would have remembered Rudy as the mayor who had to deal with the chaos of 9/11. Not an endorsement of him, but that would have been the defining moment in our collective memory of him. Now all we’re going to picture is a sweaty dude rambling in front of a landscaping shop. What a fucking tool.

Can't wait for the BTB episodes.

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

Robert's gonna take 5 episodes to even mention his name, I can feel it

These bozos are so into making a legacy to be remembered that when one lands in their lap, they try to make another.

I heard he was rushed straight to John Hopkins Landscaping

[–] EtAl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 3 days ago

Is that the place between the dildo store and the crematorium?

Nah, he is just a minor and inconsequential stooge in all of this. He has already long since been abandonded by the masters he served.

When the masters begin keeling over then we will see real healing.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 38 points 3 days ago

May his death be painful and undignified.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 11 points 3 days ago

Just one of many obituaries, that I am looking forward to.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago

Trump deserves even worse.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I will pay all the money I have if trump is next. It’s not much, but I will do my part.

Who's ready for the pearl-clutching over people replicating trump's tweet about Mueller, reshaped to be about this fucking ghoul?

[–] Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip 9 points 3 days ago

That poor hospital.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 18 points 3 days ago

May he suffer horribly, then rot eternally in hell.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 32 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Good. Hope he’s suffering.

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 24 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He was the primary person who incited the insurrection on the day of January 6. He told a mob of angry Trump supporters that they had to fight or they wouldn't have a country anymore.

But he's gotten no real punishment for his actual crimes. His suffering now is of the sort that could happen to anybody, even if they lived the most virtuous life.

I know he'll never face actual justice, but I'm personally not happy with this as a substitute.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

January 6th was the only principled thing MAGA ever did.

Literally the only time they appeared to genuinely believe their own bullshit. Of course, they ran away with their tails between their legs as soon as shit got real…

But I’m sick of hearing American liberals clutch their pearls about how terrible it is to do a January 6th. Doing a January 6th isn’t immoral- doing it FOR THE REASONS IT WAS DONE is immoral. And you’re going to have to do a lot worse than a January 6th if you want any hope at all of getting your country back.

I wish him a long, painful, and unsuccessful recovery.

[–] aldhissla@piefed.world 11 points 3 days ago

tbf, this is a net positive for the right. That creep was a liability. A shame he got fired by Cheeto Benito too, his fuckups as a lawyer were classic.

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 22 points 3 days ago

You’re snatching up the wrong asshole, Death. I mean, take this prick too. But…come on. You know the one we really want shuffled off to hell.

[–] 0ops@piefed.zip 16 points 3 days ago
[–] gdog05@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

I love this for him

The nice thing about getting old is that you get to watch the assholes you despise die off... without even having to lift a finger.

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Wait, that guy is still alive?

[–] snausagesinablanket@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Trump will send someone to hold a pillow over his face so he doesn't have any death bed confessions.

[–] Tyrq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 3 days ago

Finally, the Mike Lindell redemption arc

What a tragedy! Why, god? WHY‽

Why couldn't this have happened sooner‽

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 12 points 3 days ago

Let me guess: he’s due to report to jail or something…

[–] breezeblock@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 days ago

Now do the next one

[–] logicslayer@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 days ago

Thank you, next.

[–] ulkesh@piefed.social 9 points 3 days ago

Couldn't happen to a better person. Well maybe one other.

[–] Mantzy81@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago

Here's to hoping. If only this was about a fair few other "people" too.

[–] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 4 points 3 days ago

Nice memes.
