"Experiencing interruptions? Find out why."

Thanks, fuckface, I know why.

Sometimes videos take like 2-3 seconds to start playing. That's it.

You didn't have to be here

Several open source "pipe"-based apps all have no such issue.

Increasingly difficult to find sympathy for folks still clinging to Facebork, Shitter, and SpewTube.

Either swallow your dignity and eat the ad slop or stop using the services you hate so much. But I can only spare so much concern for someone who keeps going back to stick their dicks into the blender.

Mine is ad free and YouTube music is goated in my cars infotainment. Totally worth $24.99 for the 5 keys i get to share with friends and family.

I'm having decent luck with ublock

I honestly don’t know what I’m doing right, just typical stuff I’d think.

I have a pihole as my dns/dhcp. I use Firefox with enhanced tracking protection turned on, ublock origin and privacy badger.

On my phone I have AdGuard (paid one time license fee).

I still am seeing YouTube without ads. I occasionally have to reload a video, but no showstoppers yet. Only posting my setup in case it help anyone else. Hopefully it’s not instructions for them on what to attack next..

Im not sure id consider running a pihole as "typical". Maybe among Lemmy, but not most of the (youtube*) users. Everything besides the pihole is basically my setup with the addition of always using a vpn. I don't see ads but get the occasional stuck loading thing and have to refresh.

*edit forgot word.

Yeah, I’m sure my normal is not regular normal, I’m an old graybeard so my perspective is a bit off.

But a pihole is super easy. Mine runs in a VM in Proxmox now, but I’ve run it on a raspberry pi and as a docker container as well. Well worth a shot.
