Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Trump says lots of things. Almost all are flagrant bullshit.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

He sure got demented. He already used this trick in his attempted overthrow of the 2020 vote.

I thought the whole thing with the algae started when they switched from using clean drinking water to pulling water from a drainage pond to save money. As I remember it, there was always fertilizer in that water because of upstream polluters, so we'd have to either stop them from polluting, or filter the water to clean it up to a suitable standard to prevent algae growth.

$15 million isn't a lot to steal, and there was massive potential for an unironic "This was Obama's fault" if he just switched back to (expensive) drinking water, filtered/sanitized the pool, and called it a day. The incompetence is staggering.

Sounds like the arrests had no factual basis. More and more and more laws but not for them.

Like the proof Obama was born in Kenya? Or the election was stolen? Or that Soros funds Antifa?

[–] ZeroCool@piefed.ca 8 points 2 days ago

He's got concepts of ~~a plan~~ proof.

[–] Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So there's no proof.

Basically one of his sycophants is whispering bullshit in his ear again

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

No no, there will be proof. They just need time to find good videos of those people so they can ask Grok or whatever to make a video of them cutting the thing.

Even if we gave him the benefit of every doubt, we'd still be left with a situation where

  1. He commissioned a $15 million pubic-works project that
  2. could be completely ruined in minutes by any nut with a $2 box-cutter
[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago

The minutes involved would be at least 60, even if they didn't have to change the blade. 350 feet is a long ways. There would be footage of the incident, and they would've shared it if so. There is no benefit of the doubt to even entertain here.

Proof is coming in 2 weeks!

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

Maybe there will also be video of them eating the cats and the dogs.

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

No, he will just stop talking about it then. That has been his usual mo. And he will be able to do that because there will be at least one other new scandal he has caused.

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

He got confused between algae and plankton and figured this guy was the culprit

[–] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

It's kinda funny how paper thin he is to everyone who's ever read one of his lawsuits and how it went down. Trump speaks confidently in the public square but becomes a meak little mouse in court and still gets thrown out. He's never once, in his entire 80 years, provided more evidence in court than anything he had while speaking on a stage, unless maybe that evidence was subpoenaed away from him and it destroyed his case.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Is this like that great health plan and his tax returns? What has it been, 10+ years?

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

So sayeth cbs news.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

So, someone climbed in the reflecting pool, and made at least one 350 foot long slit, without the authorities stopping them, and without cameras catching them doing it?

With like a boxcutter at that. It's such a blatant lie but his tools in the prosecutors, and make no mistake the federal judges are tools as well just not as blatantly.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

They just need time to slip that AI clip into the pool surveillance footage and then BOOM!...Robert's your dad's brother!

[–] TryingToBeGood@reddthat.com 2 points 2 days ago

IOW, he’s got nothing.

[–] chahn.chris@piefed.social 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I can’t care less about anything this clown says any more.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The people being framed need people to care although I share your sentiment.

[–] chahn.chris@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Obviously and I assume their lawyers will care and do the right thing to get this thrown out.

Trump’s comments though can just go straight into the toilet. If everyone just ignored everything he said he’d have no power.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

After seeing those activists get sent to life in prison for 1st amendment protected activity in Texas, I wouldn't trust the federal courts to do their duty.
