I've come to the conclusion that most of the Twitter Trump Parrots have absolutely no idea what most of their daily hate words even mean.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

I betcha the money will be moved around and eventually discovered with a few million missing.

How are we still doing climate change denial in $current_weather?

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Oh come on, snake_casing when you could have made it look like an $ENVIRONMENT_VARIABLE?

[–] vala@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 hour ago

People don't want you to know this but you can make env vars lowercase now.

[–] LamaThematique@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

The casing is not important here because, no matter how you write it the "current weather" always is an ENVIRONMENT variable ;)

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (1 children)

It has been unseasonably cool where I live. We're talking low 80's, 26-ish celcius.

Weather is very hard to conceptualize for us monkeys. It's very easy for someone who never needs to stay in one place to have a completely incorrect perception of what weather or climate actually is. People who do stay in one place seem to struggle with it, that should tell you what you need to know.

[–] chunes@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Is it also very hard for monkeys to look at graphs? They don't seem to have trouble with it when it's in service of screwing us out of money

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 hours ago

When you're asking them to look at graphs or the obscene wealth they can gain from screwing others over — yes, yes it is very hard.

I'm not justifying or excusing their behavior. I'm just explaining it.

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 10 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

It's kinda like gatcha currency, where the extra step makes it harder for people to know how much they're spending.

They spent so long trying to establish that "DEI is bad", without clearly defining what it is or why it's bad. But people just went along and accepted it. So now they can literally just point to something and say "That's DEI!" and that extra step is too much for people to put together they're just being told not to like something without a proper reason. And they just believe it because they succumb to social pressure easily and go along with whatever the "in-group" does because they're afraid of becoming part of the "out-group".

And the crazy thing is that they were never part of the "in-group" to begin with they just think they are lol. It's really kinda crazy manipulation. I'd respect it if they weren't using it to enrich themselves and fist fuck the planet.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Right? Can we please get some nefarious masterminds who want to manipulate people into, idk the Green New Deal or something actually helpful?

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 26 points 6 hours ago

DEI is everything I don't like. Same as woke.

[–] Nyadia@lemmy.blahaj.zone 39 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Every time you see the term "DEI" or "woke" or whatever, just imagine it's some loser fucking dude from the mid 2000s in a sweat stained Tapout t-shirt and substitute the terms with "gay and retarded" and it'll make just as much sense, if not more. That's ultimately the essence of those terms anyways. The only difference is that with the term "DEI" they get to posture as a serious person with an actual point that deserves to be taken seriously. Bike lanes are gay. Caring about the environment is gay. Anti-hazing policy in the military is retarded. Etc. Etc.

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 9 points 4 hours ago

Its like all the stupid "Lets Go Brandon" nonsense because they are all too much of a bunch of pussies to just say "Fuck Joe Biden."

Guess what, Fuck Trump.

See, its easy, I don't need some clever bull shit because I am not some softy ass coward.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Outrage tourist grifter "Ranting for Vengeance" is trying his best to bring back "gay and retarded".

[–] CombatWombat@feddit.online 18 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Its a DEI bike lane because you didn't earn it. You earn a lane by taking on $80,000 in debt to buy a F350.

[–] acchariya@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

Instructions unclear, I'm now stuck in the bike lane with my F350

[–] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 107 points 10 hours ago

Any time you see a politician ranting about DEI, replace it in your mind with the n-word. That’s what they’re really saying. No, it doesn’t matter that people of any race can use it; Republicans have spent the past 6 decades cementing the idea of public projects and vilified racial minorities being inherently linked.

[–] OldGrayDog@fedinsfw.app 11 points 7 hours ago

Anyone who has a problem with bike lanes should just kill themselves and save the rest of us from their dumbassery. Duffy is another waste of skin.

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 62 points 10 hours ago (3 children)

Tf is Boot-edge-edge? I can't keep up with idiot name calling conventions.

It’s what some McKinsey guy, who will sadly be president some day, thought (so profoundly prematurely and presumptuously) that we stupid rubes could use, and more importantly, would actually give a shit to use, suddenly, to talk about this McKinsey guy that we all love.

Because, you know, all we know are words like boot and edge. We have never even heard if IPA or a dictionary or anything more than one-syllable words.

You just know this douchebag workshopped the shit out of his own name’s ‘idiot-proof’ pronunciation for like, 400 hours per year of his like 70,000 hrs + overtime + over-overtime per year at McManageTheWorld Inc (And also totally ruin it, see the book When McKinsey Comes to Town)

[–] quylaa@lemmy.ml 44 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Buttigieg.

It took me way too long to figure that out.

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 13 points 4 hours ago

Thank you for that. I'm appreciably dumber now.

[–] decolo@piefed.social 24 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

and Bootyjudge was right there

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 10 points 5 hours ago

This is not a demographic known for its witty rhetoric.

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 8 points 7 hours ago

He's going to regret not having bike lanes when Trump restarts war with Iran, and this time without strategic oil reserve.

[–] eager_eagle@lemmy.world 49 points 10 hours ago

he sounds like an edgy teenager and he's in control of billions in tax money. I miss a world without xitter.

[–] winkly@lemmy.world 45 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

It’s called a bi-cycle for a reason ;)

[–] waterSticksToMyBalls@lemmy.world 11 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

The lanes were made out of black tops!

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Wow, you all are on fire today. Well done.

[–] joeljoelle@piefed.blahaj.zone 21 points 9 hours ago

yeah you just redirected it into your pockets you fucking crooks

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 42 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Diversity of transport modes

Equity in infrastructure quality

Inclusion in transportation planning

[–] NoSpotOfGround@lemmy.world 11 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Support our pollutionarily-challenged cyclist friends! Not everyone is able to make a mess of the environment equally!

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe if they really, really oil their chain a whole lot?

[–] frosch@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

rolling coal for cyclists: attach a pot of crude oil dripping onto your chain and splatter that shit everywhere.

Fantastic idea!

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Only if you also had a sprayer to apply it to the shiniest diesel trucks you see.

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 28 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

It's all in-group pandering and shitty petro-masculinity. No conservatives should be in power. They are bad people.

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 3 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Are people allowed to pit Truck Nuts on their EVs?

Also Pretro Masculinity describes exactly why I could not handle watching Landman. Because that show was basically that mindset distilled into TV. Frankly, everything by Taylor Sheridan kind of falls into that bucket.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago

petro-masculinity

That's a new term for me, thanks. Been seeing a lot of that recently, and I had a thought: my EV and solar panels aren't just about the environment, they're independence. I can make a kilowatt-hour with stuff I have at home. I cannot make a gallon of gasoline with stuff I have at home.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

Tangent, but is "bikers" the right word? I use bicyclists or cyclists or bike riders for people who pedal. To me "bikers" ride motorcycles, which means they use the car lanes and burn fuel, although their individual politics might be DEI.

Could just be me, though.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 13 points 10 hours ago

Commas are WOKE commie!

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 11 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I just redirected $1.73 billion in USDOT grants away from Biden-era DEI pet projects

To where? The war?

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 10 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

It's because they're too LGB(iciclyst)T[...]-friendly.

[–] culprit@lemmy.ml 10 points 10 hours ago

Ya, I'm bi(cyclist). I'm also down with multi-modal trans(portation).

[–] TheHotze@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

My bad. *Un-ADHDs my brain. Reenables my autobiographical memory. Activates my visual imagination.

Can I have my bike lane now?
