Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
The world will heal if a new Tribes game releases.
That's the one. That's the game I need to be emulating right now
As the queer furry of the arena shooter group, I just tell them to do their worst. I was around when furry hate was at it's peak, I've already been through the wringer lol
I've though about making my own arena shooter with blackjack and queer furries but seeing the little success of Reflex Arena and Diabotical kinda is too ambitious fot my own good
You liked the wringer, though. That's what I heard
Oooh kinky
I do think I would prefer to be crushed in other ways however~
You really gonna make me look this shit up instead of dropping a link or an explanation? 🥺
eh not really much background, I just saw the q3 announcer xitter account and of course after moving from id sofware is an grifter ai bro trying to say old games were good because there wasn't "wokism", a shame because his voice is quite one of the best announcers of an arena shooter, guess gotta mod quake champions one instead
Naah. Unreal Tournament > Quake 3.
Let's warm up the really old fan disputes.
The reasonable person in me: why not both?
The other side of me: UNREAL TOURNAMENT ONLY IN THIS HOUSEHOLD
1 hour facing worlds match let's goooooo
We can dub our own announcements😁
And this is the same guy who voices Vegeta?
I looked it up and that's all I could find.
I guess boomers are shooting up schools now? 🤷
Ultrakill is easy to be a fan of
and the devs are literally the left one
No arena based multiplayer :c
Team Fortress 2 comes close to that if you can ignore cosmetics. The gameplay still holds up today and its also fun to just join the Jump Academy and do some rocket jumping.
thankfully there are mods to disable cosmetics for those that don't want to see them.
I really appreciate how much customization TF2 still allows. HUDs, configs, insane graphics tweaks, borderline cheating with legal console commands.
I get ya but this meme template is about TF2 if Ii recall so It's gonna be pretty much the same.
Anuway TF2 has some Quake on it but it's quite different of thearena shooter style I'm used to.
EDIT: replied to the wrong comment, updating this comment to be relevant
Agreed with you, I love tf2 but it doesn't quite scratch the same itch.
As if Carmack and Romero weren't problematic enough themselves.
What did Romero do wrong? Is it something recent?
Saw Carmack being like "nfts are the future trist me bro" and his sorta narcissist personality but don't know if Romero is also dudd shitty stuff.
Anyway I'm a bit more fond of post Romero/Carrack Id Software (Q3/Live, QChampions, Doom Reboot) and enjoy more the stuff the community been doing
at least they released the sources back then
that's only some of the kinds of people who come out of that
Being a fan of Xonotic on the otherhand is easy!
quake community overall seems to be chill is just that some ex Id folks can be a bit of dickheads (carmack for example)
Not a shooter but Sonic
