Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

He woke up bloodied and bruised. Why won’t ICE tell him what happened?

He still doesn't know why.

I thought Americain public owned gun for situation like this?

Was it just to shoot kids in school? Not about resisting tyranny?

Americains are a bunch of weak coward.

We own guns because we've been manipulated into buying guns by the weapons industry.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

But omg they're sooo coool and they make me sooo coooool by proxy!!

[–] ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk 32 points 18 hours ago

Neither agent would admit to knowing what happened to him, Jurado said.

Then they both go to jail. Clearly.

[–] kepix@lemmy.world 5 points 17 hours ago

then he looked at the news, then looked himself in the mirror, and realised ice is beating up non whites

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 32 points 1 day ago

I hate these people so much

[–] BillyClark@piefed.social 51 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Time to go to the bodycam footage, am I right guys?

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago (7 children)

ICE already said they'll only release body cam footage if it helps them, so I expect it'll never see the light of day

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That means they're guilty. Life in prison for the ICE Apes, next case.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Prison will only enhance their criminality and benefit the prison industrial complex. Can we not find an uninhabited island to exile these slimeballs to?

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 3 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

We should convert Epstein Island into a maximum security island. No facilities, with gunboats patrolling the coastal waters to prevent the inmates from escaping. Maxwell, Trump, DeSantis, and all the others can live the rest of their lives there.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 3 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Pure vindictive fantasies, not real policy for me. It's painful to know that I can never actually condone the comeuppances I think these people deserve because they're just not part of the world I would like to create. Ultimately I think such people should be tried at the Hague for crimes against humanity and humanely put to death.

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

OK but hear me out: The Hunger Games, but it's all the crooked bastards in the world.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I am kinda against that, unfortunately. The Nuremberg trials resulted in the execution of about 210ish Nazis. I expect American elites to avoid justice if taken to trial.

Hopefully your way works out, but if it doesn't...well, I wouldn't complain if an ICE Breaker does in Elon.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 2 points 16 hours ago

Oh, it's not even a thing. I'm never going to get my way nor are any of them ever going to face true justice. I've made peace with that, I'm just stating what should happen in a Platonic pure sense like I'm mathematically defining a triangle or some shit. I know I'm never going to hold the idea of a triangle, it's fine.

Also, denying someone in your custody medical care really ought to be considered torture, which really ought to be some sort of crime

[–] unwarlikeExtortion@lemmy.ml 6 points 20 hours ago

It's already unconstitutional. But when a fool with a ballroom constitutes most of the government, a piece of paper falls flat.

This is what Americans voted for, and for a year and a half they have been completely ineffective at stopping it.
So this is what the American people want, and if you are one of those that don't. I know perfectly well there are a number of Americans that tried to prevent this, and are trying to stop it.
But as a people Americans are letting this happen, together with all the other atrocities that are happening in a society governed by psychopathy and lawlessness.
This is eerily similar to Nazi Germany. It happened because it was allowed to happen by the people.
Too many are sympathizers or cowards, and the rest are too few to matter.

You live in another world, let me introduce you to ours: https://youtu.be/xOp4PO0Ek9A

You can like it, or don't.

We'll keep fighting, and you'll keep missing it. Maybe find some new news outlets? Or, you know... don't.
