Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

The only conduct they have an issue with is getting caught

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 17 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Nah, the main issue is they didn't directly benefit from this. She made them look bad without them getting any benefits.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

And also Don Jr already kicked her to the curb. She got this job because it was their way of saying shut up and go live in the Mediterranean and fuck off. She didn't do that and brought the Don negative press. Now she's canned and will likely go get a job at tennet media or some bullshit.

The only conduct they have issue with is getting blown up in right-wing press. If Gilfoyle's scandal had been exclusive to the Lying New York Times circle of media, Trump would be either ignoring it or outright defending her.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

NY Times is not the right wing press? They sold the invasion of Iraq.

NY Times is not the right wing press?

Everything lives on a spectrum. The NYT isn't to the right of the Michael Savage radio show.

I do agree, but am so jaded I’m assuming it’s mainly to make space for a donor

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

If anything none of us are jaded enough about how pathetically low these maga cretins are.

That both makes me feel better, and worse. Thanks kind internet stranger 😅

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 days ago

or not getting 'their cut'

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

yeah it seems like they are terrified of anyone on their staff being ridiculed. Thats pretty telling. They for damn sure dont care about laws-- they revel in breaking those.

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Guilfoyle must not have much tea on Trump if he asked her to resign instead of repositioning her like the pawns he thinks all his stooges are.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago

He seems to have no problem throwing women in his orbit under the bus when it political suits him.

[–] Z745812939054@lemmy.zip 14 points 6 days ago

she would definitely swipe money from your wallet and then try to gaslight you into thinking you spent the missing money on something dumb for yourself

[–] tal@lemmy.today 12 points 6 days ago

Trump was something of an expert on improper conduct.

[–] Tempus_Fugit@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

Wouldn't want her cutting into his action.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 8 points 6 days ago

Trump is only pissed because the “misconduct” didn’t benefit him directly. Otherwise, this wouldn’t even be a story.

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago (4 children)

What was the conduct? Giving lap dances to foreign powers?

[–] jonathan7luke@lemmy.zip 17 points 6 days ago

including an alleged threat to a host country official, accepting improper gifts and services and offering to use her influence inside the administration in return for the payment of a large credit card bill

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago

instructing donors how to hide donations and scolding them for 'papering' her

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

... that nobody enjoyed

I’d pay her at least ten dollars for a lap dance.

[–] o0evillusion0o@sh.itjust.works 6 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Another botoxed fake ass bitch. Is it a prerequisite of women working for Trump to be hideously plasticized?

[–] impairedimperator@lemmy.zip 9 points 6 days ago

Unironically yes. It's called Mar-a-lago face.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 4 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

They think it's beautiful. Do you have any idea what that kind of carving costs? They know, and it's a LOT. So when they see a woman who looks like that, they know how much it costs, and they know she's a member of The Club. Expensive = Beautiful.

Regular ass gold-digging whores can't afford this kind of face, but you can bet they all want it.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

They are supposed to look sort of beaten up too, like someone hit them in the face with something. Beaten women makes them feel manly.

What's the statute of limitations on bribery? She needs to be charged but this admin will not do that.
