If you haven’t even seen the show, why are you defending the characterization? If you had seen the show, you would know Eddie Munson is not socially awkward, especially compared to most of the other main characters who actually are portrayed that way.

Ok, fine; you got me. I am now convinced. Nobody should ever say what they mean, and everyone should always assume everyone intends to say something completely different than what they actually said, in every situation. Also, sarcasm should be illegal. But even still, I didn’t need to hear your comment about how you are sexually attracted to animals. That seemed really out of place.
