I think it’s a misnomer calling this tech “outdated”. Calling something outdated assumes that there’s a newer and better version of said tech. While yes, something like a CD will be more technically accurate than vinyl, it’s not an upgrade to vinyl; it is its own technology which is completely unrelated to vinyl (aside from both needing to spin in order to read data/vibrations)
GamePro201X
Use them for a couple days without using your old headphones. Afterwards try switching back. If you still like your old headphones more after that then you just prefer them (though that’s pretty unlikely seeing what headphones you were originally using)
Pretty good deal yeah; about 25% off. You save a couple hundred. Not anything crazy though it’d have to be over 30% off for a deal to be “crazy” imo
About $3200:
JDS Labs Element II amp/DAC- $400
Sennheiser HD600- $300
Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro- $170
Hifiman Sundara- $300
Grado SR325e- $300
Kennerton GH40- $900
JM Audio Editions modded Hifiman R7DX (7th revision)- $250
Sony MDR-XB500- $30
HEDD Audio HEDDphone ONE- $1100
I compare mine to my vacuum cleaner which has a volume of around 75db. I always make sure that my headphones sound quieter than the vacuum
That’s really the best you can do without some specialized equipment.
Not my cup of tea, but they are some damn good headphones
I just put my dt990 on my desk. Otherwise I store them in their box
HD560s is the more competent headphone. Maybe not great if you prefer a lot of bass but otherwise it’s hard to beat
Reviews are going to be a bit mixed on anything that expensive imo. Personally, I found the HEDDphone 1 to be closer in tonality to HEDD’s speakers than the newer version 2. It also has an extremely wide soundstage, but something important to note is that even the widest sounding headphone won’t sound like a speaker. Totally different listening experience
Oh you like Beyerdynamic? You must have hearing loss
Depends on the unit. Some people say they have no issues while others have to return theirs because it’s so bad.
The cable that came with my HEDDphone is quite easily the most microphonic cable I’ve ever used and it annoys me to no end. It’s also very stiff, and since it’s covered in nylon it’s also rather uncomfortable
