If u tried long enough and it's not working then just pivot, keep pivoting until it works

How much is the fee? And is it also applicable to cybersecurity products?

[–] Vegetable-Court6632@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Sure, but while we worked for Ms there also tons of companies that were using Ms consultancy services at ridiculously high rates, so we are targeting this kind of companies

Would it be wise to then already show future pricing on the site or just leave it out completely and only make it visible once I have a certain amount of subscribers. Or perhaps show pricing and highlight a temporary promotion

Me and several other Microsoft employees have been teaming up to start our own consultancy firm. The main goal is to offer high quality work for a substantially lower cost than Microsoft. The problem is we all have quite a lot of skills on our plates which makes it hard to pin point the focus of our business. I don't want to overload our customers which long service lists as this becomes a turn off for many.

Any thoughts on how we can reduce our service list?

Here's roughly what we have now:

  • AI and Machine learning
  • Data insights and analytics
  • Data quality assurance
  • Optimize infrastructure and deployment for cost efficiency.
  • Moving systems to the cloud and scale.
  • Architecture Reviews to Improve system performance and scalability.
  • Improve security
  • Develop proof-of-concepts for new tech.
  • Integrating multiple solutions for efficient workflows.
  • Training staff in various technologies
  • Application and database performance reviews.

I also rather remove as much technical drivel as possible, and this is already a "simplified" list.

What do you think?

I've been working on an online service and I'm curious if I should start off with just giving it away for free to grow traction or if I should just charge right off the bat?

My main issue is that if I get too many free users I will need to increase my infrastructure to scale which will cost me more money.

This looks really interesting, are u offering this service already? Me and my business partner are ex Microsoft employees and we started our own IT consultancy company with focus on machine learning, AI, data quality assurance etc. We currently have a few running projects but would love to scale out.

U can describe details to ChatGPT and just ask it to spit out 50+ names at once. Then take something that pops out and regenerate similar names as that until you've narrowed it down. The more u see the more ideas u'll have of what u like

Build a proof of concept first, then u can find an investor using that proof of concept. Then with that money u can build a minimum viable product and find the next investor etc

I studied a lot, finished a PhD, but honestly, this is not how you make money at all. Not even talking about academic life which pays rather crap. School just mainly prepares you to be an employee, not an employer. I knew nothing about business when I finished school, didn't even know how it worked. All I knew is I was supposed to go get a job.

So if u wanna enjoy company benefits while having a 9-5 job and working your ass off for someone else's profits while counting down for that one summer vacation a year, school's ur thing.

Interesting concept, what is your business model for this sales academy? U charge a % of each sales?

Hi, that's pretty dope!

I've recently launched a new service which is an API that does IP and URL reputation checking. Do you reckon there's a place for something like this as a VS Code Extension? For security reasons it requires an api key, I assume subscription can all be organized from within the extension?

Travel, a lot, the more countries u visit the more u realize how all your friends and family at home live in a bubble.

Traveling also creates so many business opportunities, not only from meeting people but also from just seeing what is needed in other places and what certain things cost.

I've reverse engineered a popular cybersecurity product, Maltiverse, valued at $1.7 billion. This tool detects malicious activity linked to IPs or URLs, gathering data from over 100 sources.

It took about one year of solo development, and I now have a working version plus a demo/marketing site. Check it out here: https://www.securefeed.net/.

To sweeten the pot, I have 5+ years of historical data from all their data sources and have recently added 100 of my own data sources, totaling nearly 200 sources. This results in a huge database (over 50 million records).

A handful of users are currently running the product on limited self-funded hardware.

I'm seeking partners:

  • Influencers: Help spread the word about my product.
  • Marketing experts: Assist with branding and promotion.
  • Cybersecurity professionals: Provide feedback and expertise.
  • Investors: Support further development and growth.

If you're eager to collaborate, please reach out as I still have some shares to distribute.

Also general feedback is always welcome of course.
