You could buy another new set. I have some and wirelessly, nothing beats them to me. I use an iPhone as well. I haven’t tried the new 5s not sure how much better they are to these.

I still have an LG G8 which I use strictly as my music player. Then I carry an iPhone 13 for everyday use but mainly because iMessage as its my main communication platform. I don't much like iPhones but it is what it is. I also had an s22 which has AptX and LDAC, I like the audio but not as much as the LG.

At this point I think if you're going over wireless, as long as the phone supports the codec your headphones do, it's fine. I said that because no phone on the market with an aux have a dedicated dac like the LG phones did, so there's really no point because if you're going to be using a portable dac, might as well use it with any phone you get.

So when I don't use the G8, I use the iPhone with my Sony buds and that's just fine for now.

Thanks for the observation my friend! To be clear, I wasn't being technically specific about the subject, I was generalizing the idea that if OP wanted to listen to better quality audio, should completely avoid YouTube and Spotify.

I know that tidal, Apple Music and the rest offer what they call "high res" which is higher than cd quality, notice I only said lossless (flac cd quality), I did not say high res lossless (higher than cd) which if we're being technical are two different things. However in order to listen to that kind of audio OP would need the proper setup that involves better and more equipment than simply plugging in a set of headphones and an amp or even worse, over bluetooth earbuds.

So if OP just wanted better quality music, every platform aside from YTM and Spotify offer better quality music, in particular lossless which is CD quality and the majority of all the platforms' quality. Granted they use wired headphones/earbuds, not bluetooth, and probably even to the extent of downloading the files because we all know streaming does degrade the quality for the purpose of connectivity. So local download or rip cd will yield them best quality overall.

In any case tidal is the worst example to use about high res because up until recent, they were on something Called QMA, which was discussed by experts to be even worse than just cd quality. Though tidal won't admit it, is one of the reasons why they are completely moving to FLAC. But that's a discussion for another time.

For best experience cds man. Rip and load to your phone. For streaming Apple Music, Amazon, dezeer, qobuz, tidal offer lossless and that’s closest to cd quality. YouTube, Spotify, crap quality.

Just look up cable for your specific model. Sennheiser hdXXXX cable. On eBay, Amazon, AliExpress etc.

Sony are probably the most consumer friendly headphones. If you plan wearing them for long periods of time, it’s probably the most comfortable and long lasting. With that said, quality wise is not the best, very plasticky. Sound is semi neutral on the flat side. I had the 3 and then the 4s, both broke at the hinge because the plastic turned very brittle and they just cracked. Keep in mind I’m very careful with my tech, I’m not rough with any of my stuff at all so I was disappointed when they both broke. And Sony has terrible warranty as neither of my headphones were replaced. Bose I stopped using at the qc35. Haven’t used anything new since. Sound wise I actually prefer the bowers & Wilkins px7 s2. The sound is richer and quality wise they are extremely well built. You’ll be happy with the quality and sound. Are Bluetooth and come with both aux and usb c cable so can be used with any device. On par with Sony pricing but of much better quality. Cheers
